2012 : Sam Montgomery and Bennie Logan.

For a school that produced dominating D-linemen from the mid 80’s through 2012; this lack of production at a position of need is a head scratcher.

Things definitely have to change either in coaching, recruiting, and developing talent. It all starts in the trenches. Solid DL execution makes the LB’s and DB’s play much easier

Him and Mingo coming off the edge was an absolute pleasure to watch. Miss those days.

We’ve been getting our butts kicked in DL recruiting ever since.

The McDonald’s generation is starting to take hold IMO. When’s the last time you had a 4* or 5* DL recruit in Louisiana who wasn’t built like Sopsher, McKinley, etc aside from Maason Smith? It seems like 80% or more of the kids we’ve signed or recruited to play DL have been physically soft and lazy

Savion Jones, Quincy Wiggins, Jacobian Guillory, Jaqueline Roy (NFL)
were all physical specimens yet have not been developed to compete vs. SEC schools. Even against inferior teams like Army, Gramblng, & GA State teams they don’t dominate and take over a game. I agree they play soft as it may be technique or scheme they were put it. Something has to drastically change

Mason Smith has not dominated. I know he got hurt but still. He was supposed to bring in the recruits IMO. That stepping stone to a revolving door of large men pusing people back. The reason bama won another sec title

He was a 3rd team AA which is respectable. I was actually referencing 1st team AA players who dominate and are the best at their position in CFB.

LSUs defense has never been in the same stratosphere of 2010-2012 outside of 2016 (Aranda) and 2018 (Aranda)

It's the thing that bothers me the most about watching Alabama and Georgia. THEY JUST ALWAYS have dudes
