Even more, that illustrates well how inappropriate this or any chant would be at a private, ticketed event like this

No it doesn't. Chants are acceptable at football games.

Chants aren't acceptable at a play...true...theyre fine at a football game..even if theyre profane...no problem with that.....but STTDB might be more appropriate for, lets say a titty bar where some hot chicks are mud wrestling or something.

And why aren't they acceptable at a play or at a dinner or a symphony? Who determines this?

because there are norms that have been est. by society that are generally acknowledged as acceptable behavior...like not talking in a movie.

People wanting to hear the play.

I'll just accelerate this for you. You're going to say society deemed it as such, and by saying that I'm admitting that society deems what is and isn't appropriate. You'll follow that with society saying STTDB isn't an appropriate chant at football games, which in your mind will make me a hypocrite? Am I close?

To me screaming about fellating a tiger in public in front of kiddos is not a norm accepted anywhere.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. I've converted from my previous hardline stance on foul language in the student section.

I believe the students should be allowed the right to define themselves and brand themselves however they wish. If they want to come across as trashy, disrespectful idiots... then let them. These are college students. They are adults. Who are we to look at them like some sort of "super adult" who needs to hold their hand in everything they do?

As long as the students are comfortable with everyone thinking they are moronic and sexually retarded, then fine. We will be proud of them, our vulgar, mentally stunted, adult student fan base.

I'm not being sarcastic here at all. If you're going to do it, OWN IT. Suck That Tiger Dick, Bitch! Let's print that shite on baby clothes and sell it.

Maybe we can trot out a student leader in pre-game to lead the whole stadium in a rousing STTDB cheer. That way we can make sure the students know they are getting the attention they deserve from the rest of us.

I disagree. That may be what it was like in the past but now, they have security personnel that do searches of all bags, purses, etc.

YES, there are still ways to sneak in flasks. The ONLY way to avoid that would be to have something like the airport body scanner, which will NEVER happen. It is too cost prohibitive.

Not even close. The people putting on the play, or symphony, or dinner determine what is appropriate at their event and how to handle this, just as the university is doing in this case.

Isn't learning fun.

That's preposterous. The rest of the stadium get searched nothing like the students.

Yea, it's called putting it in your pocket. No pat downs, nothing. It's a joke compared to getting into the student section.

That must be why the fights and cursing are limited to only the student section. Oh wait...
