My opinion is the kind of opinion that people like James Madison like to see legitimized. The opinion that language should be policed in the fashion suggested in this thread is the kind of opinion that other types of world leaders like to see legitimized. I'd actually name these world leaders, but you would misinterpret the purpose of the analogy and then say something like "You're equating concerned mothers with Nazis?" to which I would reply "I would NEVER insult Nazis like that."

My opinion that people should speak freely is morally sound. The opinion that language should be policed in the student section by surveillance cameras is sick, evil, hypocritical, and extremely morally reprehensible and not to be legitimized, therefore, by my showing it any respect whatsoever.

Like I said in an ANALOGY: I never negotiate with terrorists.

It is that this is a university event, not a public event, and they can regulate it how they wish to. Freedom of speech doesn't apply here anyway. Just because you disagree with how the university chooses to handle this doesn't mean that they should do differently.
