Nothing the team can't rebound from IMO
Being realistic is good. Being overtly pessimistic like you have been just makes you look stupid.

I am realist. I have stated nothing but facts. I am very optimistic about the next two years. Huge expectations, but I confident this team can get it done and bring another Chrystal back to BR

It's like any great thing in life that ultimately turns to shite. We remember how it turned to shite, not all the good times leading up to the diastrous end.
That just depends on your perspective. Like I said, it took me 4 years to get over my father's death. I wanted to focus on the actual death, but eventually I realized it wasn't worth it. Yeah, it sucked but we had a lot of great times together and that is what I try to remember. Not him suffering for years before he died. He was a "great" man and in the end his life (physically) "turned to shite". You have to accept things for what they are and I'm not saying don't act like it didn't happen, because those experiences are what mold us into the people that we are. We (LSU) will learn from this and move on.

I'll ride this train, but I've got one foot dangling over the edge and so help me I will jump off this thing faster than LM can frick up a NC game.

I can appreciate that. My father has beaten cancer twice, and was just diagnosed with a relatively rare form of leukemia that, though slolwly progressing, will ultimately prove fatal. I can't really compare the two and don't know how I'll feel when he does die--though it should be at an age approximating normal life expectancy (about 80).

You must not value the ride of a lifetime as a fan during the 2011 season like I did. Crushing Oregon in a game they were favored to win, shocking Alabama in their own house, Kneeling down four consecutive times against Houston Nutt with five minutes left, driving Petrino to embarrass himself and the entire state of Arkansas on national television, and forcing Georgia to give up in their home away from home. Yes, we had a galactic train wreck of an ending but the journey was nothing short of exhilarating. If you aren't proud of what this team has accomplished, then that's on you.

It's like attending the greatest party of your life, only to finish the night with your head buried in the toilet like a freshman sorostitute while your nemesis leaves with the girl you've been trying to frick all year.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you get to spend enough time with your father and appreciate every moment.

There's nothing any one can say or do that will prepare you. It's just one of those things you have to experience. My father had cancer for 2 years, went into remission for 1 and then it came back and took him within another 2 years. Unfortunately he was only 39 when he died but that experience had a lot of influence on who am today and how I deal with loss and adversity.

I have a special place in my heart for families affected by cancer. It runs up and down my gene pool (both sides), and I've little doubt that I'll face it, in some form, at some point in my life.
Believe me when I say that I know that you're right. It's just a game, and I know I'll be back by the time fall practice starts. But the BCSNCG was one serious kick in the nuts. I really think it may prove beneficial in the end. We all say "it's just a game", but I think I'm being force to really consider that.

I was physically ill for 2 days (nervous stomach type shite) so I understand this sentiment.

Bruh wipe your vagina off and get a grip. We went 13-1 won the SEC while playing one of the hardest schedules in college football history.

and yet got arse fricked in the BCS Title game by the team we hate the most.

quote:All this is true, along with beating ranked WVU at home, beating MSU when they were ranked, dominating opposition in every game in some aspect of the game or another. But I would have rathered lost to Bama on Nov 5 and again in a rematch on Jan 9 than deal with the spectacle of beating them 11/5 with great defense and special teams work in OT, holding them to only six points, then coming out on 1/9 flat, unmotivated, unprepared, with a coach who seemed unable to coach that day, with 2 other good QBs on the bench, and Shep who was capable of running the Wildcat offense as a third. We had so many weapons that day, unused, untried. It was like a big, fat surrender by the coaches (and maybe some of the players).

I hate the way LSU lost that game, I'll never understand what happened, and I do not accept the kool-aid that says Bama is the best team. Not when we'd already beaten them in regular season. No. It will always for me be the ugly asterisk (*) on an otherwise pretty great year.
