LSU, Will Wade/UNLV Jerry Tarkanian similarities run deep

If you want to know a story about another program and coach that came out of nowhere and threatened to disrupt the order of things look no further than UNLV Runnin Rebs in 1977.
Up and coming coach? Check
Begins a great turnaround? Check
Gaining popularity among the basketball community as a viable place for a top player to play? Check
Potential to disrupt the money making machine? Check
The rest of the story is to be decided, but the beginnings are already set.
Time is the major difference here as the media and background players that know the established order have moved quicker than when UNLV began their move. In about 5 years after Tark the Shark took over at UNLV he had them in the Final Four and lost by 1 to Dean Smiths Tar Heels.
History repeats itself. Always will and always has.
I hope our ending is a better one than what happened to them.

Encourage you to watch the documentary and there are a few times where someone hits on what we all have known: to be big time you have to do some things that skirt the rules; sometimes things happen unknowingly and sometimes knowingly. UNLV was the lamb to slaughter.

Tarkanian was a cheat for 30 + years and proud of it.

And so are everyone else.
Wooden makes Tark look like a Sister Act or Choir Boy.

Wooden had a network going on the cash was LA money big time, celebrity money, Jewish money. He was the slickest of them all.

I’d give my middle nut to see four Final 4’s and a national title. Give me the exact ending they had if that’s what it takes, I couldn’t care less. Just get me 1 natty, literally by any means necessary.

WW has a long, long way to go to get to the depths that guy reached....And Dickie V loved him.
To the guy questioning our use of hypocrisy on this...exhibit 1.

WW and Tarkanian are not close. Tarkanian had a long successful track record. WW has no track record at all.
