This would be the easiest and best choice for LSU to make IMO.

The A&M defense could only get better, Chavis or not. It was terrible.
LSU has fielded one of the best defenses in the country for nearly 15 years minus the co DC debacle. Even Les isn't dumb/hard-headed enough to put Peveto in that spot again. We will be fine.
Chavis is a great DC, but LSU can and will hire someone who can replace him behind the headset and possibly even improve our recruiting.

Oh I agree Chief was a good hire. I don't think Cam was a good hire for y'all. That's why I think it is 50/50.
To be honest, the only reason I think y'all might have trouble getting a home run hire is because it is so late in the game. However with the talent y'all constantly have on defense I'm not really sure you have to get anybody above average to have another great defense.
Just avoid Snyder.

I do not believe Les' current reputation will allow him to attract Elite talent to the position. He has Cameron only because of friendship.
