LSU will face controversy...

no matter who finishes the season in the #2 slot. IF Bama holds onto the lead, the entire country will cry fowl that the BCS NCG only proves who the best team in the SEC West is. IF OSU is able to edge Bama for the spot, Gumps will invade with cries of "WE WOULDA HUNG FIDDY ON YALL THIS TIME ROUND." This is coming from another thread that brought into question what the "fall-out" would be if Bama were left out of the title game, but it should be clear to everyone here that there's no pleasing any of the teams that wanted to be in our shoes at this point.
We will hoist our third crystal ball of the BCS era.

bama wont have much room for complaining outside the state of alabama. everyone else will recognize they had their shot on november 5th and they shouldnt get a do-over b/c they think theyre better or think theyll win the next one.

Here's how I look at it: if we play Alabama and win, everyone will agree we are the best. If we play Oklahoma State, everyone in about 45 states will agree we are the best but it will be argued about for years as to whether or not Bama would've won the rematch. We'll have the upper hand in the argument. But it will go on non-stop til like 2020. I'd rather just beat their arse and be done with it.

This. There'll always be someone to whine that they should have been recognized as the best in college football....but we only officially have one way to do that, and that's the BCSNCG. Moral victories don't get you trophies.

We are the ONLY team going through the due diligence to play for a National Championship, which actually suits me OK. I am so tired of hearing all the whining and gnashing about us "sharing" NC with USC and then "backing in" as a 2 loss team against Ohio State. NO ONE will have played our strength of schedule, met the adversity of tough matches on the road, and kept asking for more! BRING IT ON!!!!!

Yet if we beat Bama in a close game, and OSU romps their BCS bowl opponent, the entire country will call this the title that the SEC couldn't lose. How many gumps still maintain Bama is the better team after losing at home? What makes you think they won't still have excuses like "oh well that wasn't a neutral site, it was Nola..." We can't please everyone, never will.
