Great improvement in this thread only two already blaming the refs for this years's game [loss] against bamer and I believe that it is easier to win 10 games now than when there were only 11 games and not many bowl games. Cholly Mac had a pretty good record against top teams, just had problems with the Bear as did most who played for him then coached against him.GeauxT's

I agree! LSU wins

For the one who said this is the beginning another long steak of LSU loosing to Bama like it was back in the Bear days. It will not happen there is to much pairity in College football today versus then. Wasn't it ironic that the wins we had against Bama where in Bama and not in TS?

Bama is my lock of the year.

The Tigers take this one without a doubt.
No way we lose to the midget/ginger combo at home again

but Les is looking an awful lot like Charlie Mac.

Only in the eyes of a fricking idiot.

Does Mac own a BCS, AP, and Coaches title at LSU?
Does Mac have a 3 yr run of finishes in the top 6?
Did Mac ever beat Alabama, Auburn, and Fla in the same yr?
Did Mac ever win 10 games in a yr for 3 yrs in a row?

If not, you r only running off at the mouth and don't know shite.

But there is nothing new about that, is there.

Tell us Nutty, did u know know shite when u said Les was better than Nick or do you not know shite now when u tell us Nick is better than Les?

We really should have beat them the past two years. In 08 we outplayed them, especially our O vs. their D, but just choked in the end. In 09, we should have kept the lead and not choked it away. I don't think we let the same thing happen a third year. I've guaranteed this win every season, and I hope I'm right this year.

Not exactly. He had problems with the Bear (2-14), but he also had problems with Johnny Vaught (2-6-1) and Vince Dooley (0-2).

Having played or coached for him should not have made it harder to beat him. Bear Bryant, 14-2 versus Charles McClendon, was a combined 2-2 against the LSU coaches immediately before and after McClendon.

No, he didn't win any national championships. He had two seasons with better records than any Les Miles has had.
quote:

Does Mac have a 3 yr run of finishes in the top 6?

No.
quote:

Did Mac ever beat Alabama, Auburn, and Fla in the same yr?

No, because we hardly ever played Auburn back then. Two of the four times we did play them when Mac was coaching (in 1969 and 1970) happened to fall during a 3-year hiatus in our annual series with Florida (from 1968 through 1970). We beat Auburn both of those years.
quote:

Did Mac ever win 10 games in a yr for 3 yrs in a row?

No, because they didn't play as many games back then. He did have a run of five 9-win seasons in a row from 1969 through 1973. I'm sure if those teams had played 13 or 14 games like Les' teams have, some of them would have won 10 games.

Of course you can cherry pick certain stats to make either of them look better than the other. For instance, Mac never gave up 50 points in a game in his entire career, let alone twice in one season. Mac also had a career winning record against Florida, and beat them in the Swamp several times.

The point is that both Les and Mac took over the program when it was among the strongest in the country, then maintained a reasonable level of success for a while, then eventually took it down to a lower level.

It was 18.

0 10 win seasons. miles 3 10+ wins in 5 years.

For half of Mac's career, they only played 10 regular season games and there weren't very many bowls. The most games he ever had in one season was 12, and that was in less than half of the seasons he coached. He had six seasons with 9 wins, so it's likely that some, if not all, of those teams would have won 10 games with today's 13 or 14 game seasons. For this reason, Mac also never lost 5 games in one season until his 13th year.

Then, u were wrong.

No.

Then, u were wrong again.

No,

Then, u were wrong but one more time.

Both maintained?

Mac took over a NC and never won one himself. Les took over a NC program and WON one himself.
But u want to see it as the same thing. It's not, Nutty, and u look foolish trying to pretend that it is.

Why would any REAL Tiger Fan answer No to this question? If you have that little faith in your team, find a new one and quit taking up space on our bandwagon when things go well.

The fact is we have a great chance of winning this game and could (should) have won last year. If you're that so damn negative, do us all a favor and GTFO!

I think some of you hate anyone who isn't all positive and rosy. It is like if they do not agree with your opinion, or you do not agree with theirs then they are less of a fan than yourself. It is rather disturbing

What's disturbing is negative people that enjoy hearing themselves b1tch about everything. Are you people really that miserable? To call yourself a fan is laughable. Why do you even waist your time with a team you have no faith in? You're nothing but a nit picking defeatist that would prefer us to lose. God help you if we ever go undefeated. You'd still probably complain because we didn't win by enough.

BTW - Bet yall are Saints fans NOW but didn't want anything to do with them over the past 20 - 30 years when they were losing.

Do they really bitch about everything, or do they only bitch about specific things? You should really clarify yourself before making such generalized statements.

quote:

Are you people really that miserable
Who are "you" people?

quote:

To call yourself a fan is laughable
They are just as much a fan as yourself, hell they may do more for the school than you do so therefore they may be a better fan than yourself.

quote:

Why do you even waist your time with a team you have no faith in
Again you are making a generalized statement, this is the problem with your kind you make assumptions about the other just because you do not like what they have to say.

quote:

You're nothing but a nit picking defeatist that would prefer us to lose.
Again you are really making yourself look bad here.

quote:

God help you if we ever go undefeated.
So you do not want LSU to go undefeated, that is really negative.

quote:

You'd still probably complain because we didn't win by enough.

Hey look more statements about me when you have no clue, I just called you out correctly and it bothers you so you generalize me.

quote:

BTW - Bet yall are Saints fans NOW but didn't want anything to do with them over the past 20 - 30 years when they were losing.
You are kind of funny

Talking to you smart guy

quote:

They are just as much a fan as yourself, hell they may do more for the school than you do so therefore they may be a better fan than yourself.

Not likely. Probably never even attended LSU or very spoiled buy our success over the last decade.

quote:

Again you are making a generalized statement, this is the problem with your kind you make assumptions about the other just because you do not like what they have to say.

Again... Not generalizing. I'm talking directly to you and the facts are evident in your miserable posts. Speaking of "your kind", how hard is it not to pull the trigger every night?

quote:

Again you are really making yourself look bad here.

So you don't nit pick? You can't be that delusional.

quote:

So you do not want LSU to go undefeated, that is really negative.

Now you're reaching.

Look, support your team and have faith that we'll have a great year. If things go bad, fine, we'll b1tch about it then. You can't go into a season and call your team dog sh1t and then expect to jump on the bandwagon when things go well.
