Been there done all of those things along almost every highway/road out west. I drove from New Orleans to San Francisco, then down to Los Angeles and back home.
I got my flight for $11.60 with miles and a free room. The only thing I am paying for is a game ticket and a tour to the west rim of the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. Never been to Hoover Dam but have been to the south rim of GC.

Doesn’t help that United already cancelled one of their returning flights to Houston mid morning on Monday. We originally bought and got bumped to the earlier flight.
