We have 3 weeks left till our first big away game against Texas. Low key looking forward to it! It's here in Texas, about 3 hours away from us in DFW area.

This might've been discussed already but if not, anyone plan on tailgating for it?

Apparently UT Austin does things differently than we're used to. First being there's no tailgating on their campus per say. Unless you do it through tailgate guys or this other company. Secondly, they tailgate out of the parking garage and basically around the capital building area...where there's little to no grass...weird

Tailgate info for Austin

Nonetheless, trying to figure out where other tailgaters will be so we can hold down the fort together. We're thinking most likely one of the parking lots close to the capital

We'll be there set up by 6am in the best green grass spot near the stadium we can find. Tent, Flags,Fryer, Burner, TV's and all.

I was also initially misled but that link is not 'Tailgate info for Austin', it's Tailgate info for State Property and specifically around the Capital building. Click on the PDF inside and you'll see the area that it is referencing.

The tailgate scene for Texas football is awful. We will have more fans out and about than they will. It’s sad but we’re spoiled as LSU fans because nobody turns out like we do!

Austin is not a place to enjoy a Saturday college football game. Oldest son graduated from UT & he even says UT doesn't even come close to Tigers pre game tail gaiting. Already planning for UT-Lsu game next yr in Tiger stadium

Exactly, that's why we show up and make it a Tigers tailgating environment

Yeah, apparently UT Austin doesn't allow tailgating on their campus. So basically, for those who want to tailgate in Austin, that's the site they'll need to refer to in order to find areas to tailgate in. Should've been clearer. My fault

lol I say that only because the tailgating situation sucks. Its nothing compared to LSU or even NFL games.

Not surprising considering it's walking distance from downtown Austin.

I’m leaning towards bar hopping rather than set up a tailgate. Much less work.

Tigermall, I know you stated it in your reply but have an idea where you'll be? Would like to set up near by if possible or in an area with grass haha

Tailgating Info

".....Tailgating is permitted in parking areas surrounding DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. No tents or tailgate set ups are allowed prior to 7 am. on gameday. Signage is subject to approval by IMG College/Longhorn Sports Marketing and Texas Athletics. Remember to throw away your trash and to recycle your aluminum, plastic, and glass in the blue recyclable bags which are available in the tailgate lots. Texas Athletics and UT Landscaping will dispose of bags left tied up at your tailgating location......."

What kind of bullshite is this? Some marketing nerd is going to walk up to a tailgate and tell you they don’t like your sign? That wouldn’t go over well I don’t think.
