Postgame thoughts show a lot about these teams. One is politicking and relishing their wins, the other is “next man up” and “we have 1 goal”.

On being #1

Ryan Day: “This was our first goal,” said first-year OSU coach Ryan Day. “We had to win the Big Ten Championship. We knew at the end of the season that it was going to be this road of three tough games and to see the way that we finished the resume. I think we deserve to be No. 1 in the country.”

Day: Yeah, I think when you look at our résumé, what we've done, beating Wisconsin when they're a top-10 team twice in one year, and then again this three-game stretch was unlike I think any team has had in the country.
Committee does a great job of ranking these teams. These are top-15 teams, top-10 teams that we played three weeks in a row. If there's anything else that shows what this team is made of, you saw it here today. The fact that we went down and played the way we did in the first half, but then to come back and play the way we did in the second half not only shows you our talent but shows you the heart of this team. Again, if there's a better team out there, I'd like to see them.

Fields: “Really just looking at it, knowing the guys on our team, I feel like a lot of guys just have heart. Of course, outsiders can't really see that. In my heart, I think we should be No. 1. I hope we are.”

Young: “Definitely. I think we No. 1, pointblank, period. I mean, I just feel like a team like this, that hit a lot of adversity, has been tested many times, times like today. To see us come back and not just come back but we came back and we dominated. I feel like a team that can flip the switch like that is, you know, a No. 1 worthy team.”

Coach O: "I think we're a darn good football team," Orgeron said. "We don't know. I've told the team it doesn't matter. It don't matter where they rank us, where they tell us to go. We've got to win the next game. That's all that matters."

Burreaux: “Look, we’ll play anybody anywhere. I said in the post-game, you can take us to Canada, and we’ll play on a gravel lot. It doesn’t matter where or who we play,”

On the Heisman vote from the men themselves:

Young: (my top 3 ballot) Fields, Young, Dobbins. (Why I’m on the list/should win) I feel like I’m the most dominate player in college football.

Burreaux: “You know that’s for other people to decide. We’re 13-0, that’s all that matters to me.”

I keep seeing this three game stretch talk.

Is that some new metric?

It's not even a good one considering we've played a more difficult 3 game stretch.

And it’s not even close. Day & the rest of the Bugeyes come across having little man syndrome.

The metric is an ever moving target.
Eye test to resume to rising to adversity.

Day’s quote about the committee rankings is pretty funny considering what everyone sees as the CFPC bias.

If they really want to talk about the last 3 game stretch......LSU's defense was better than Ohio St's. Those guys will get what's coming to them......no Heisman, no Championship and no #1 ranking.

For OSU, that's all it's about, winning 3 big games.

Chris Fowler just called out the committee on the ever moving criteria. Essentially everything we all have been saying while adding “doing whatever has been convenient for them to justify keeping OSU at #1”
