I think this might be the best rivalry in sports as long as Saban is here, you thoughts? The 2 most passionate fan bases in football going head to head.

Could be the new SEC West rivalry, assuming Auburn continues to plummet.

No way! This is the second game between the two and last year Bama went 7-6, this year most people on this board are already chalking this up as a blow out (not our way) i dont see how that translates into any great rivalry. Let alone the greatest.

No way. It's a good rivalry... But Bama/UT, Bama/awbarn trumps it. Hell, OSU/UM is even higher on the rivalry totem pole.

Even this year, no Bama game is more important than the Iron Bowl. 6 in a row HAS to stop this year.

I knew one of you gumps was going to say this eventually. If you win this weekend, you are playing for the SEC Championship, if you lose, you still have to win out to make it (most likely). The biggest problem with Auburn and Alabama is that the Iron Bowl can make or break each's season to the fans, while in reality, it usually isn't nearly as big of a game as it's made out to be. You should be thankful that your players don't feel the way you do.

Well I'm sorry you don't see it the way WE do. But look at the history between us. It speaks for itself.

I did, and I said the game is usually alot bigger to the fans than anyone else. Ohio St/Michigan and UNC/Duke usually meet with conference championships on the line. I don't think Alabama and Auburn have had a game where the winner goes to Atlanta this century. It's been one trying to spoil the other's season and winning the Alabama state championship for a good while. I find it to be an extremely overrated rivalry. Yes, the hate is there, but the games just don't have the same meaning for both teams.
