man, I was born before then so wtf does that have to do with anything?
we are talkin about NOW, the present, the powerhouse they have become, not the damn '80's or '90's.

I have been trying to stay out of all the bickering lately. Just not worth it.
Anyways. Let's get back to your topic.
We have had two bad seasons and our spring game was not impressive. I didn't expect to be ranked all that high. I think we can be better than we are ranked though. We do have a tough schedule.
I was listening to a houston radio sports show after the coaches poll came out. They were going over the rankings and when they got to us at 16 or whatever they were like wow. They couldn't believe that we were picked that low. They thought we should
Have been around 10 or 12 at worst.
They called it a wait and see ranking. Saying pollsters just aren't ready to rank us high until they see the product. I can't disagree with them at all.
Winning fixes everything.

In the past 50 years how often has LSU ended up in the top 10?
Posted on 8/21/10 at 5:36 pm to noonan
10 or 12 at worst, that is exactly what I am talkin about, it is almost like the media forgot the talent level LSU has and keeps, and all of a sudden we are back with the BYU's or Utah's and, frick, even TCU and Boise St. is ahead of us now.
I guarantee LSU goes head to head with TCU or Boise we kick their asses, minus Les' bad calls and all!

Hey, there is no reason to be a prick, we're all Tiger fans here. How many times has LSU opened up in the Top 10 in the last 30, 40 or 50 years. Not that often! Bottom line, those preseason rankings don't mean shite. If LSU wants some respect, they better get their asses out there and beat the respect out of those other teams we are playing and that Top 10 ranking will work itself out. LSU has the talent to play with anybody in this country!

I started this thread cause the media shows no frickin love or respect for a loaded, talented team!
The job of the media is to sell papers or magazines or get ratings. That's it. Love has nothing to do with it. Why else do you think that Notre Dame gets all that attention? Tons of alums and supporters nationwide. Which LA is more likely to generate a lot of publication sales and/or air time ads?
The only love they have is the love of money.

you're the one being a "prick" with the '80's, '90's BS, I clarified myself and said this decade because that is when they really did become a powerhouse and yet you babble on!

I prefer the underdog role.

No, the media loves coaches that they love to worship like Saban, Meyers, Carroll, Stoops, the Mack Browns, etc.
but wtf they should do is evaluate teams by the level of talent they have, if they did that then they would be no doubt that LSU is worthy!

Someone has to coach that talent. Miles has earned the lack of respect that he (and LSU) is receiving.
But like other posters have said, win the games and the rankings will take care of themselves.

Why did you start this thread? Was the site getting too positive for you?
it does seem that as optimism has grown a little since fall camp started the Miles haters have cranked up the volume quite a bit.

you calling me a Miles' hater?
if so, there you go again the misconstruing shite again, this thread was about the TEAM in general, not Miles.
