Sounds like when I was at LSU and all the teams from up north would come to LSU for their spring break and we would have a big meet that weekend. Was always fun but super competitive.

Same here. I ran at LSU in the early 2000s.
Mostly around the lakes.
Good luck to both teams this weekend

Texas Relays and Pepsi Relays are this weekend, so that's a pretty significant haul of teams. A lot of schools do use this as their spring break meet. Particularly the cold weather ones. A lot of the universities will likely not send their full teams, mostly ones competing in specific events (sprints/field events) as we are sending a separate group to NC State, probably some distance runners.

Would be nice. We haven't won an outdoor since Henry left for A&M. I think we won one indoors, but that got stripped by the NCAA for something a few years later.

I am happy to be wrong, but let's not say that Pat Henry wasn't a stronger coach.

100% correct, Henry did dominate in the 1990's, but the sport changed and became much more competitive. Nobody has dominated the past 20 years, and he has been gone for about 20 years so let's move on.

Since Pat Henry left, women have won outdoor 2008, vacated 2012 due to athlete failing a drug test for a nasal decongestant. Men won outdoor in 2021 (2nd highest amount of points scored ever in an NCAA championship meet) and most likely would've won 2020 had COVID not interrupted.

Pat Henry has won the men's and women's outdoor titles from 2009 - 2011, which no one else has ever done.

It's pretty damn hard to win a team title in T&F. You can have in off day in any other sport in the world and still win/achieve what you need to do. If you're not feeling you're best on the track, someone feeling better than you can easily take the title.

Happy to see Tima Godbless running and putting up a nice time: she and Lyston could go 1-2 at NCAA’s one year.

We’ll see but didn’t we start out top 5 in men’s indoor? Then scored one point?

Same here, I played football at LSU in the late 80's.
Mostly on the parade grounds.

Outstanding. I was a 2 sport athlete myself, played basketball as well.
Mostly at the REC.
I'm not saying we should be L club members, but..ehhh..they could let us attend a few things

I love how every time there's a T&F thread, someone does a drive-by with "Shaver frickin sucks" and it goes for like 1 extra page

I wish we could get boo schexnyder back at lsu. He was the big reason the track program elevated to elite for a nice stretch.
