Hey Tiger fans,

A group of us (4) are coming down from Minnesota for the LSU/Ole Miss game. Minnesota has a bye week so figured would check out some SEC football. Any suggestions on LSU fan tailgates or Baton Rouge bars to check out?

Thanks

Bars: Chimes, Barcadia and Bogies Friday night if you’re older. Fred’s if you’re a still young and want to party.

Tailgating: I recommend wearing at least a Minnesota hat to start conversations. Just walk around, eventually talk to people and tell them your story on how you’re from up north and want to see how LSU gets down. They’ll feed you some good food and make you a drink if you find the right people.
Location wise, I’d say start at Highland and Dalrymple walk towards Tiger Stadium. You picked a good game to come down for. It’s a classic southern rivalry.

Enjoy brother. Geaux Tigers!

Wear a Gopher shirt and any tailgate will take you in, feed you food and drinks.

Fred’s and Bogies are great college bars. Chimes and Ivars as well.

You’ll have a blast either way.

We are staying in New Orleans near the French quarter, will be down for a couple days to check out the area.

And we will be wearing Gopher gear for sure. Thanks for the suggestions on spots and look forward to a good game.

Y'all gonna go to the game? If not The Varsity by the north gates of campus shows it on a huge screen and they usually have a pretty good gameday deal going on.

If y'all are older and venture downtown afterwards try Driftwood. Great tap list and cocktails.

Make a point to eat at Parrain’s while you’re in town, and just walk through all the tailgating and talk to folks. Some may give you a little shite, but good-natured. Then they’ll feed you and maybe even offer you something to drink. After the game we usually go to Walk-Ons.

Thanks to all the LSU fans in Tigerland! We had an amazing time at the LSU-Ole Miss game. Would love if the fans in Minnesota had the passion for football like you do...unfortunately too many are distracted by all the ProSports in our metro market.

Good luck the rest of the season, you all have a team to be very proud of. Thanks for the hospitality once again.
