Still an imperfect system, and there is still some incentive to play shitty non conference games.

Not really. Nothing wrong with encouraging competition and discouraging a run of shitty non conference games.

It's a really bad idea because a team who goes undefeated with 8 SEC games and Boise State, TCU, Nevada, and Tulsa wouldn't qualify for a BCS game, but a team who goes 9-3 with 8 ACC games and Ball State, Akron, San Jose State, and Washington State would.

It's just not a good idea at all. OOC games shouldn't be looked at any differently from conference games. They all count the same.

Why's that a problem? Just take the top teams and put them in the BCS.

Too subjective. It doesn't work that way. I highly doubt the two best teams are always the ones playing. There are situations where playing shitty OOC games are a definite advantage over teams that don't.

I can't believe that you don't see how shitty an idea it is.

This may be the best-scheduled LSU ooc game of my lifetime.

I'll reserve judgement until the end of the season. We don't need this game for BCS ranking purposes because we already have WVU on the road OOC along with the SEC schedule. If LSU gets into a 2004 situation there's absolutely no way they'll be the odd team out...that's about the only advantage I see in playing this game - BCS wise anyway. Otherwise, LSU could make the BCSCG playing Montana at home instead of Oregon in Dallas. In other words, there's a much better chance that this game could end up hurting by giving LSU a 2nd loss than helping with the final BCS rankings.

Other than that, the game and the build up to it will be awesome, and the exposure will also be great. From that standpoint, the scheduling of this game was a no-brainer. I just wish it would have happened in a year where we didn't have just 6 home games.

If you return a trip to Ft Worth, more than half the stadium will be purple and gold.

And if you cancel, they'll tell everybody that you're "scared."

And they definitely won't move their "home game" to Jerry World. I doubt they would want to take a beating 15 minutes away for a crowd of 75,000 LSU fans haha.

Didn't they play there big non-conference game vs Oregon St there? Pretty sure that's where it will be. Doesn't make sense not to.

Yeah, Oregon State, a team who wouldn't bring more fans than them. TCU will not play LSU at Jerry World. That's a road game for them and they know that. Tech and Texas have both tried do that with them but they wouldn't agree to it. They have a very small fan base.

The Oregon game was scheduled at the beginning of last season when Oregon was ranked in the top 10. Bc they cancelled their games with Tulane. In 09 LSU cancelled their series with Tulane to play a UNC team that was ranked in the top 25 too.

And in 2006 when LSU scheduled TCU they were a top 10 team.

Yep and they are all exactly what I said they are. Solid teams that LSU feels safe playing. Oregon was not expected to a national title contender when the game was scheduled. There's tough scheduling and there is suicide scheduling. If LSU didn't feel comfortable, they wouldn't schedule the games.

That's a bunch of crap. You give LSU's schedulers too much credit. Oreogon was in the Rose Bowl the previous year and were most definitely a national title contender coming out of the PAC 10. The fact is LSU likes playing these neutral site games because they make as much money as a home game with the exposure as a side benefit.
