N0 it isn't..........The point of a squat isn't for your arse to almost touch the floor...........Tommy Moffitt explained it perfectly in the video.

Listen and you might learn something.

That same video where you are making fun of Craig Steltz...........watch what happens when he mimics the almost same motions in the FL 07 game. Boomsticked the running back.........all cause Tommy Moffit taught him the correct way to squat.

i watched all videos posted, its important not to split hairs here, everyones body is different.

moffitt's squat instruction is legit, and seems to me to be much safer and controlled movement than that scrub that was bouncing in and out of the hole.

even though i dont squat exactly like moffitt instructs, the guy knows what he is talking about.

btw, i squat 405+ at 190 lbs...

Exactly which is why I was saying that these squat numbers were not impressive in the slightest.

right, i mean, the numbers do look a little low, but these guys arnt LSU powerlifters, they are football players.

they dont win games by being able to squat more than the opponent, they win games by being able to play better football- and strength and conditioning is more than just your max squat.

1) who said those #'s were maxes?
2) I'm very confident that your little 190 frame pushing up 405 occurs, it might take 5 seconds, some grunting, and some death metal music playing
3) Tommy Moffitt posting those #'s didn't even insuinate it was a max........they may be doing explosive sets of 5............they may be maxes who knows?

But to argue that the #'s aren't impressive, Tommy Moffitt doesn't know what he is doing, or that we are weak and underconditioned in the 4th quarter is RIDICULOUS.

Anyone who squats will tell you 583 pounds is an impressive amount of weight to move. It becomes less impressive when its compared to non football playing power lifters. However, I think its unfair to compare the two. Hell, 130 pound women are squatting more than 400 pounds.

I bet you that 583 lbs comes up quickly and with authority.........Tommy Moffitt could give 2 shits about how much weight you can squat.......He wants to see it done in regards to how it will help you on the field.

How do they not? They win games by being more physical than their opponents.

That isn't that impressive to me. I've regularly seen guys at the gym moving 500+ at around 200lbs body weight.

This thread is full fricking fail. Anyone that square any lower then moffit suggest is out with a acl or mcl for at least a year.

You should 100% not be allowed to spill such BS.

Max weight is also training slow twitch fibers which is not what you want for the explosion and speed required for football. You want fast twitch idiot.

There are probably a handful of people in BR that can train at a 600 pound squat.

How much cardio do these guys do in conjunction with their power lifting?

i didnt say that, but after spending enough time in a weight room, thats what it appears to be for the day.

eh, pretty safe to say those may have been maxes for the day. and maxing out every now and then is just fun to do, i think thats what they probably worked up to that day.

honestly for the amount those guys weigh, its nothing special.

I have no idea but seeing how our defense fades late in the game I would venture to say not enough. Moffitt has been hanging around by the grace superior genetic athletes that LSU brings in not his program.

I like how you grazed over the post in which I blasted you with #'s since Tommy Moffitt was hired here by Nick Saban......

2ndly, for being so retarded you should let me knock you out and squat you.

I was taking about your gym buddies. I don't know the guys you're referring too but if they're like some of the power lifters I've encounterd then endurance is not their forte.

Its unfair to compare an athlete doing cross training with a power lifter.
