look..I’m just randomly pulling up stats…but while we might suck at fielding…we’re certainly way above avg in almost everything else

I'm not disagreeing that this team is well above average.

But having terrible fielding is like having awful special teams. It changes the game completely.

Like the 2010 Chargers who didn't make the playoffs despite having the #1 offense and #1 defense in the NFL.

What about the goons on here saying we would host even if we went 0-2?

Did I miss it? The selection show tomorrow already decided we aren’t hosting?

Id like to know if we are hosting or not, regardless of how i feel about its advantages or disadvantages. The thread is about rpi

I suspect LSU’s RPI is going to keep them from hosting. The only hope is that the absolute disconnect between RPI and conference records across the board will result in the committee re-thinking how much weight they give the RPI this year.

I agree our offense is above average. We are inconsistent but above average. There are three things you need to be an elite team and win in Omaha and we have 1 of the three. The other two are starting pitching and defense.

While I kinda agree..Coach Johnson had pretty bad fielding teams while making the college World Series a couple times..finishing runner up in one of them.

Hosting would be great for the fans and the university. Personally, I think LSU should be the 4th host from the SEC if the league gets 4. I don’t think AU or UF deserves one over LSU.

Getting a great draw as perhaps the top 2 seed isn’t the end of the world though.
