Broussard said the school was given an allotment of 12,500 tickets for the game and those requests were all scooped up by season ticket holders and students. Broussard said LSU had well over 15,000 ticket requests for the Cotton Bowl.

15000-12500= 2500. 2500>1750. Yup, you're right. There is no way we could've sold those tickets. Get that weak sauce out of here!

So why would A&M get more tickets and LSU not?

Its because those 2500 didn't want SRO.

A&M's students do.

Should the Admins add "And Can't Count" to the title?

Regardless, SRO tickets were never made available to LSU season tickets holders or LSU TAF members or to the general public through LSU.

Correct. Only to students 7 days after the initial information went out...

And you know this for fact how?

Perhaps aTm got more tix because they are actually in the same state as the Cotton Bowl? Perhaps aTm felt like begging the Cotton Bowl for more tickets because they want as many fans to cherish this moment since this is as good as aTm football gets and it doesn't happen very often?

Its part of that TX logic.

And this makes my point. The LSU students didn't buy up the tickets/weren't expected to so A&M got them.

As a student without a ticket (but looking for one) there was no way I was going to stand my drunk arse by myself not in a section for an entire football game. I would have had to get friends to pass ticket stubs back and sneak into a seated section (where there is cover, and I can continue drinking).

I'll just hold out for a real ticket.

If true that LSU returned 1700 highly coveted SRO tickets, who gives a flying frick? Common sense should tell you that more figs would drive 3 hours to stand and pretend see their "national championship" game before LSU fans drive 8 hours to see a mediocre bowl game. Who the hell wants to drive 8 damn hours to pay atleast $50 for SRO tickets to a game in which they can't even see the field? If you're gonna flame, come up with something better than this.
