Shoop isnt a bad hire at all. Both CP and Shoop are good choices

Yeah they had a great defense this year considering their offense was putrid.
I think the main difference is that Ed O comes with CP and that's a pretty big draw for his coaching and recruiting in the area. We'd rival any school in the country for the best recruiting staff with Ed O coming on. Not to mention he handles the DL and knows LB while CP is really good with DBs. It's a great combination and they know it.

My worry is how long they'll stick around with CP being of an NFL mindset, and O having Coord or higher aspirations.

possibly the only downfall of it but I think Ed O wants to be at LSU and he has reasons to be in Louisiana for family

With O sinking his claws into the recruiting trail for us, and having a couple more years as a position coach under Miles and CP, he would be a solid contender to promote from within if/when CP decides to make the jump back to the NFL.

Skike was busy watching the American Sniper screener and heard Shoop and not Stoops.

Shoop used to coach at Vandy so he's got SEC experience. And had pretty good defense there

So, now that it's out, what's the story on this? He obviously wasn't number one as we had discussions with CWM's people, but what happened?
