Players on scholarship are privileged. Privileges come with extra responsibilities. Hill was on probation, and showed poor judgment by going out at all IMO.
Also, Miles likely had a discussion with Hill, heard each side, and viewed the evidence before deciding. He wouldnt suspend one of his most reliable and powerful offensive weapons on a whim.

Alright guys, let's just shut the thread down. This guy is an authority on what it's like to be a black person and get called the n-word. No need to go any further
Christ.

Thanks.

My guess is bAyardo will take the brunt of the charges. I get the feeling hill and the "victim" had a tussle. And bayardo sees an opportunity to be a hero to a football player and hits this guy from behind.

EAH!!!! Screw any and all rules! Screw the future!!!
What rules are you talking about? and due process doesnt have shite to do with a football team suspension.
Damn you're dumb

Because someone allegedly called him an n word, do you really think that he had no choice but to haul off an hit the guy. If anything, prove that you arent an n word but showing restraint.
Yes, a black man should have to prove that he isn't a n word. Punching someone makes a black guy an n word now?

This supposed prick guy in Tigerland that provoked Hill probably had it coming, but if that were the only criteria for giving it to people, my life would be nothing but a joyful beatdown of every single bad character lowlife in the Lafayette area. Unfortunately, you have to wait till the lowlife puts his hands on you, then you are free to teach a lesson.
FWIW, the rumor at first was that Hill was hit first and then he retaliated and won, obviously. Not sure if that's still the story or not.
And no one has suggested Hill or anyone else has carte blanche immunity from the law simply because someone made a racial slur...but it does offer a bit of a mitigating factor. It's not like "the victim" walked up and said hi and Hill waited for him to turn his back and punched him in the back of the skull.
Finally...can we all stop acting as if what we would do as 30, 40, 50+ year old adults is what he should have done or what we'd have done if we were in his shoes? Well...no shite. As a 42 year old man who understands the value of the lottery ticket Hill has in his pocket if he's able to stay healthy and out of trouble for the next year I can assure you there's nothing anyone could have said to me that could have made me jeopardize that. 22 years ago? I can't promise that, and I'm almost certain neither could any of you.

He has to suspend any player with pending legal trouble.

I usually pull out jokes when my logic cannot win an argument either.
Point is that not all black people use the once N word crutch as a wheelchair for rationalism to act foolish.
We all go through life being taunted and persecuted for one reason or another. Blacks want equality, therefore should be held accountable like the rest of us. Its whats builds character. Excuses only weaken people, and the strong ones both know and acknowledge that

Its in the scholarship language.

Racial slur? This is 2013 where racism is vastly on the decline
What does that have to do with the price of tea in china?
He was called the "N" word and that's pretty offensive and provocative.

Honestly, I think he'll be back. But I wouldn't look for him suited up for TCU. After two years of serious egg on his face, Miles will almost certainly have to do something- just for the fact that he (Hill) managed to get into this spot. My honest opinion.
But it was fun talking with you all about it.

Holy shite, dude. You have quite the issue with black people.

No shite, "Racism is on the decline in 2013, therefore examples of racism shouldn't be offensive and qualify as racism." WTF

No, but hitting someone because they were called a name shows, n like qualities, and white trash qualities, etc.
I never said Hill was a n word. I like Hill, and wish him the best, and though I love LSU, that doesnt mean I will suspend my own rationality and good judgment to belittle him by excusing his behavior.
I can guarantee, he regrets his actions, and would take them back if he could, so all of you defending his actions arent doing anyone any good

acting like trash, yes, granted. Def something to be proud of

Why Miles doesn't kick him off the team and set an example is beyond me. I understand the upside of keeping Hill, but is it worth constantly having a discipline problem with players? We aren't even to summer workouts yet and someone is arrested.
