certainly is the big question that we all have.

That said, if it doesn't, I'll take a 7-6 win.

This is the question and I think USC shuts LSU down. I hope I am wrong but I saw NOTHING from yesterday that would make me think we have a shot at beating SC.

The biggest turning point in the Florida game IMO was not scoring a TD before the half when we had 2nd and goal inside the 5. I thought we got "too cute" in that sequence with the Mett rollout and then the failed jump pass.

Score there to go up 10-0 at halftime and I think the final score is very different. Unfortunately, we did not and we have no one to blame but ourselves and our offensive coaching staff.

Including UF, LSU will have played against 5 of the best scoring D's in the country over the remainder of the schedule. Still have 4 teams in the top 14 in scoring D to compete against. It will take an act from a magical force for the offense to improve enough to make a significant difference given the state of injuries, effort, remaining talent, and inconsistency demonstrated this season, and I wouldn't factor in MSU as a sure "W" this season, either.

We still play 2 teams ahead of us and possibly a 3rd (or 1 twice). If the O can just be competent (SO tired of saying that), LSU can still make a run at it. We are the top-rated 1-loss team.

At this point though, I'm just hoping the team is 9-3 or better.

I don't know where you see this. They could lose the next three.

Exactly.

For all the people who had a revelation yesterday, there is still pie in the sky for some.

As I learned with USC, poll watching is all fine and good but in the end doesn't amount to a hill of beans when you come to realization that your team just doesn't have it.

Hoping on lucking out is a cowards way to view reality.

This is more than fair!! Not being negative but our offense is so bad we'll be doing good to be a top 25 by the end of the year.

It's not necessarily lucking out. Fortunately, LSU has a championship-caliber defense and I'd be very surprised if anyone put up more than 20 on us.

There's no question, the offense is abysmal at this point and it's pretty much impossible to see a light at the end of the tunnel on that side of the ball, but nonetheless LSU's defense is going to keep us in every game we play and our two toughest games left are at home (and at night!), so I don't think it would necessarily take "luck" for LSU to win out and finish 11-1 or 10-2.

Hopefully, the offense can muster up something from this point forward, and if they can't, then LSU is going to have to win 10-7, 17-14 type ballgames.

There's still a lot of football left to be played, and LSU is by no means out of contention on any front (SEC or national). Do we have to get better? Absolutely no question we have to get better. As a fan, it's not unrealistic to hope for improvement IMO.

Rankings are a little more generous than I initially thought for.

you will see a different team against SC at home next week. The defense will keep us in EVERY game. Yes our offense sucks but if our offensive playing can improve we should be able to score 14-21 points in most games which should be enough to win with our defense.

Why aren't we running 5 yard drag routes???

Our offense stinks, and I blame it on Miles and the coaching staff. That said, I'm still an LSU fan, love LSU, and look forward to the rest of the season.
We are in no position ever again to say the media hates us; that LSU is ranked this high is nothing short of amazing grace. Our defense has been phenomenal; at least it was in the first half of the UF game. Now if *CLM and the rest of the coaches will take notice, count their blessings, and do all they can to salvage the rest of the season for LSU and the fan base, and light a fire under this underachieving Offensive squad, the outcome in the end may be far more positive than current trends might otherwise indicate. Let's beat USoCarolina on Saturday!

We just gotta take it one game at a time...

1. Beat USC, however possible, even if it requires winning 6-3
2. Likely favored at A&M, and while they have that game circled, LSU is simply a better team IMO
3. Everything will be on the table and set up for the night game Vs Bama

Your defense is great but as was seen yesterday will wear out as the game progresses if the offense doesn't offer any assistance.

One dimensional teams whether great offenses or great defenses but little on the other side are never championship caliber. "Improvement" on offense isn't enough...you don't suddenly become championship good on O to beat Bama or anyone else highly ranked simply because the season progresses.

I agree. It already seems like they are playing without emotion. One more loss and they probably pack it in.
