LSU offensive approach is the problem

The higher up NEED to step in and demand a change. UNTIL Miles changes his approach to offense,LSU will win but struggle to win the big games, yr in and yr out..The OC is not the problem .Coach Stud can coach (Studrawa held the position of offensive coordinator at Bowling Green from 2003-06, overseeing some of the top offenses at both the national)

JT Curtis has been running the same boring Veer for a 100 years and has a Home Depot full of Trophies. Its not the wagon but the horses pulling it!!

its poor execution and scheme which falls back on the coaching when its been happening for half of a decade.
And I disagree with the OP... Joe should never tell a HC who to hire and fire EVER. Let that coach sink or swim with his guys.

But JT has better and bigger horses than everyone else. Even so he always has a wrinkle but often the average fan doesnt pick it up.

So your telling me that the offensive coaches cannot teach or poorly teach proper technique whether its at the skill position or on the line. I call bullshite on this way of thinking . 90 percent of failure at this level is excuation of the play. Sometimes it's just as simple as the defense is better. We may not agree with particular plays that are called but this doesn't mean that it was the wrong play called.

ok. And when the execution has been poor for FIVE YEARS IN A ROW that tells me its more than "oh the players just didn't do it"

We should have a top 40-50 offense nationally. There is no excuse to have offenses ranked in bottom half of the country. Production is the problem. I don't care if he has the horses or not. I don't care if its the scheme. Les better get it fixed if he ever wants to win another championship. This is the only thing holding his teams back right now. It's an easy fix. By the way coaching at Bowling Green doesn't qualify you to be LSU's OC.

People who feel it is all player execution haven't got a clue about football at a high level. You have to put your team in the best position to win the game. Otherwise an idiot could sit on the sideline and call plays ... kinda like Miles. You have to out think your opponent ... like other good offensive coaches seem to do. Someone who has offensive schemes that get your team ranked in the mid 80's and makes $4mm is not hacking it ...

If what you are saying is that for the last 5 years LSU has had less talent on offense than 75% of the nation, then that is inexcusable. Too much talent in this state alone to let that happen.. If LSU has the talent but it has not executed for five years, that is also inexcusable. Either way, the coaches have no excuse for what has happened to LSU on offense.

You're right. It has nothing to do with execution. Miles told the offensive line to let mett get sacked all those times in the bowl game. He also told Mett to over throw Landry when he had him open for the first down on that last series. My God, its amazing how people can't see the obvious!

We have terrible execution as well as poor splits on the line.

5 in a row eh? So I guess the offense sucked when we were winning all of our games by 30 points last season. 2.5 games out of 14 where the offense doesn't play up to your standard doesnt exactly qualify as being poor for a whole year.

do you know how many big games Miles has won the last 8 years?

Exactly! I give up.. There are just far too many idiots to argue with on this site

Look it is always IMO a combination. Poor exectuion from QBs(JJ/JL in the past Mett this year) makes the line look bad and vice versa. Play calling against better defenses that does not take advantage of mismatches for given situations makes everyone look bad. At the end of the day it is up to Les Miles to figure out how to fix it. To date he has not shown the ability to do that, he has tried by bringing in Krags, let's hope he tries again this offseason and it works.

I agree with all that. I want him to make some staff changes as well. I just dont think the solution to the problem is too throw out Miles like a lot of people on here want. He can get us going in the right direction and I believe he'll get it done. I just wish it would be sooner rather than later
People forget that he tried to address it pretty recently. Not his fault the man found out he had Parkinsons shortly after he took the job.

Lets say it is 100% execution. Wouldn't a decent offensive staff correct this after five years?

yes. the COACHING IS THE COMMON DENOMINATOR HERE. Lee 4 star. JJ 4 star, Mett best JUCO QB. so we are back again is it lack of talent in recruiting from Miles or coaching? it ain't recruiting talent.
these morons expect 100% execution running against 8 and 9 man fronts. they expect 100% execution with mett throwing slants and curls all day with DB's squatting. They expect perfect deep passes all the time. funny coaching has nothing to do with getting improvements on these things eh?
