To anyone in the LSU athletic department involved in accepting or declining an invitation for the Tigers to play in the NIT:

Please, please, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease end this season. Don't make any of us watch this basketball team anymore.
Turn down the NIT invite. Save the travel budget. LSU's SEC baseball schedule starts Friday. Let your fans move on to their next season of hope.

How low did the Tigers go?

Their grand total of 38 points was the lowest in SEC tournament history in the shot clock era that started in the 1985-86 season. It was the lowest total scored by LSU in the SEC tourney since 1945 when the Tigers lost 68-37 to Kentucky.

LSU's 13-point first-half tied for the second lowest in LSU history, a half in which Tigers' coach Johnny Jones told ESPN's Shannon Spake in a floor exit interview that his team had "good energy." The D.O.A. Tigers' 20.6 field goal percentage (13-of-63) was the lowest in the tournament since the SEC re-started the tourney in 1979.

I love Ron. Know him personally...huge huge fan. And he has a point because this season has been way below bad. However, LSU can't say no to the NIT.

It will only be one more. LSU will be sent to slaughter in some made-for-tv road game.

One more chance to further embarrass the program. Thanks Johnny.

As a fan, I'm entitled to a knee jerk reaction. What I witnessed yesterday was an utter embarrassment to this university. Jones should be fired immediately after LSU turns down the NIT bid. Cut your losses, and move on. No excuses.

I really like our no motion offense. Don't think anyone can defend it! No one can score on our defense!

If LSU does accept the invitation they will not host a game. Alleva is smart enough to know that playing a home game in front of 1,600 fans is not good for anyone.

LSU may not have the chance to turn the NIT down. They may not get an invite. Go to nycbuckets.com and read- we are one of the last bubble teams in the NIT.

LSU isn't going to turn down the opportunity to make money (especially if they host), and the SEC will push them into it regardless. You're opinion is retarded

A) LSU isn't going to host the first round because they didn't even play well enough to be a top rated NIT team.

B) How are they going to make money with no one showing up for the home game, if they got one?

Worst thread ever highlighting the worst fans ever. You never turn down a chance to keep playing. And as a fan if you don't want to see your team play anymore, you can go lay down in traffic.

Traffic would be at a complete stand still. Where have you been the last 24 hours? No one, absolutely no one, wants to watch this team play anymore. Go research Bill Simmons recent twitter activity.

If ULM beats UALR, that's another auto bid to the NIT. I'm just saying.... LSU may not get invited to the NIT.

There have several times where lower seeds have hosted in the NIT. 1) Upsets do happen
2) Gym size, LSU would give the NCAA more $$$ maker whereas a smaller gym couldn't host. 3) The NIT isn't turning down the opportunity to see Simmons.

You accept whatever bid you get, some kids will be playing the last organized basketball of their lives. You don't screw them over just because some fans don't want to watch.

Then LSU would lose money. They won't sell many tickets at all.

I'm pretty sure fans will show up to see Simmons play one more time. You're optimistic because of what the Rant thinks of the team.
Plus LSU would make more money hositng compared to traveling to St Mary's to play a game.
