The school that produced Kevin Faulk, Justin Vincent, Joseph Addai, Leonard Fournette and Clyde Helaire should, at any stage, feature a good back who can get you the tough yards. It feels like we were entirely dependent on JD to run last year and this year looks to be the same. SEC teams keyed into this Arkansas onwards.

You’d think this aspect would be fixed in the offseason.

Our 3 best options at RB are Emery, Diggs, Goodwin. None of them were available last night. I get Williams is a great story but he has no juice, Bradford is just fast, Cain is slow and a 1 cut back. Emery has to get on the field but we’ve seen him make huge plays in big games. Goodwin is a true home run hitter he has to be healthy though, Diggs can run and catch. Ride the best talents we have. Kaleb Jackson will get his shot at some point this year too.

its just like the latter les years. teams KNOW we arent throwing deep. it is not easy to run against a team that plays this way

Can't run the ball when your OL is getting manhandled.

Pass protection was decent, but run blocking and scheme were awful.

Agreed…unfortunately our O-line was pushed around last night so even if we had a stellar running back, I don’t think he would have been effective. The only time we got yards on the ground were when the pocket collapsed and JD was elusive enough to get some.

Turner and Fraizer are not SEC caliber starters. They both need to stick to the bench. Insert Heard at RT and move Emory to Guard and figure out someone to play Center that has any kind of play strength because Turner gets negative push on every run down

LSU lacks talent on both sides of the ball, particularly in the offensive and defensive lines. Start there.

Why can’t we run a pro style offense? We shouldn’t have to limit ourselves like we do. We’re probably one of a select few who consistently have the personal to run a pro style offense.
