Everyone whose saying were done LINK Joe Lunardi has us as a 10 seed, we were that last week and it did not move or drop. Yea Miss St. and Mizzou lost may affect us in long run if we continue to loose games against weaker teams. But this teams chances of making the tournament are still high as of now.

Of the 77 predictions followed on Bracketmatrix.com, LSU is in the field in 75 of them.

edit: if they are not updated weekly they are removed from the list so currently 62 of 63... Was 75 of 77 earlier today though.

Overreaction is a human emotion that is not logical, but is still prevalent. If you look at our body of work, we are still a tournament team. Don't listen to everyone who can type and know we are still fine, but we cannot have a ton of WTF games going forward.

What people often forget is that other bubble teams will have bad losses, too. That's why they're on the bubble in the first place. Yes, the MSU loss hurts, but we're still very much in it. Need to finish the season strong, though.

What people need to do is stop looking at brackets. LSU needs wins and count them up and add them up at the end and see where they fall.

They are not out of it but they need to win the games you should win.

I totally agree, this team has plenty of flaws. But they have a good chance with patterson coming back to win 2 in a row, and have a legit chance of beating UK imo. Do that and we jump up to a 6 or 7 seed and are pretty guranteed a spot in dance

LSU definitely needs to finish strong, though. Another 7-game win-streak at some point would be nice.

Since the NCAA tourney is always the goal, the next ten games will define season. Its nice to be in a position where the tournament is a real possibility but it doesn't matter if they can't pile up some wins over the next five weeks.

Even if we don't beat UK, we'll be fine if we win most of the rest, and avoid any more WTF losses (notably Auburn). This team has a lot of potential, I hope we can live up to it.

Assuming everyone is back healthy and stays that way, I think LSU needs to be 12-6 and I'm going to assume a win against Auburn at home and a loss to UK because I think these probabilities are 80%. The remaining 8 games are probably between 60-40 either way. I think LSU needs 6 of the 8. If they win 5, they need to do some damage in the SEC tournament, if they win 4 or less, they need to win the SEC tournament.

I'm thinking the same thing, in that I think we really need at least 23 wins to feel good about ourselves. If we go 12-6 in the SEC, that should be enough. 11-7 and we'll probably need to win a game or two in the SEC tournament.

I think most agree that we are in now, but our schedule is about to get tougher and, based on the fact that we have lost to two of the three worst teams in the conference (RPI wise), we are likely going to need to go 12-6. That means we can only lose 3 more conference games, four if we have a win against UK or a close loss to UK.

After Auburn and Alabama, we play UK, UT, A&M and Florida, a combined conference record of 24-8. Then we finish the season playing Ole Miss, UT and Arkansas, current record of 15-9.

There are no signs that we are actually fixing the turnover problem. We are still averaging 16 per game in SEC play with 0.9 TO to assist ratio. The frustrating part is that a lot of the turnovers are unforced and due to players simply being careless with the ball. Plus we are being out rebounded in SEC play, which is something that simply should not happen with this team. Hint... this is my nice way of saying part of our problem, at times, seems to be lack of effort and focus.

I think people's concern is less about where we stand right now and more about where we will be at the end of the regular season. Right now I see this team going 11-7 and needing wins in the SEC tournament. Losses coming to UK, UT or A&M (on the road), 2 of 4 to UF, Ole Miss, UT and @ Arkansas.

I didnt expect us to win out and I still dont. News flash everyone we are going to loose more games. If we take care of auburn and home games we should be fine we have games coming up that wont hurt if we lose one or two.

the pumpers are going to say different, but these tigers are not good enough to make it to the NCAA. Just look to next year: M & M stay, with Simmons: then NCAA time.

This team is absolutely talented enough to make the NCAA's. It would be a disappointment not too

We're definitely good enough to make it this year, we're just so inconsistent and liable to lose games we shouldn't. The question is: Can we find some consistency down the stretch and win the games we need to?

A lot of teams are good enough to make it. To me it comes down to earning it. And so far LSU has not done that. Personally I only want LSU to make the tournament if I think they could potentially win it all.

That's pretty short sighted. Our team, especially our guards, need tournament experience this year to make a deep run next year.

The publicity of making it to the tournament is far too great to have this mindset. How many people fill out brackets?

I mean, what recruits want to come play for a team who hasn't even made the biggest stage of college basketball in 7 years? That's what we are looking at if we don't make it this year.

It's not like we're expecting a Final Four run this year. Just making the tournament, and maybe winning a game or two, would be a huge step for the program.

Just making the tournament, and maybe winning a game or two, would be a GREAT accomplishment. Not many 13 and above seeded teams have won a tourney game much less two.
