Cowardly LSU fans here, Joe. If they would just come out and straight up admit their nervousness over the inroads Tech is making at LSU's expense I would have more respect for them.
Hell, I wouldn't even lie about that to get laid.

I assume you speak of football when you speak of improvement at Tech. Total collapse of their once proud wbb team. It seems like their football team was better a few year back. On balance, I believe Techs sports program was better when Malone was there. Also glad they are improving the campus. It was old and dreary last I saw it. In my mind, ULMs campus is better looking and has been the most improved. ULM is also in a better market than is Tech for future growth. I cant see Tech seperating itself from its natural rival despite not playing in football. It also seems that ULM has progressed at a faster rate than Tech since Techs refusal to play (ULM beating Ala.).

90% of Tech fans also root for LSU. Trust me. This message board has a few die hard Tech fans posting on it and of course they're not gonna have nice things to say about the rival instate school. Dont get your panties in a wad. Tech is nothing like ULL.
And Tech is definetly an up-and-coming program. They've remodeled alot of that campus and the enrollment is continuing to grow. Their athletic programs are getting a makeover and you can see the difference. But LSU will always be LSU.

La Tech is recruiting my son for baseball. If he does go to Tech it won't change my opinion of LSU.
Having to leave Louisiana in 1984, I root for all Louisiana schools when they play anyone else but LSU.
I understand that any school located in Louisiana represents the people of La. when they play other schools for other states.

These threads are retarded. I went to Tech and lived in Ruston for 5 years. In my time there, I met all of zero people who hated LSU. Most of us grew up rooting for LSU and went to Tech for financial, academic, family reasons etc...Several of us would choose to watch LSU football games on t.v. rather than Tech in person. This is the only message board I go to, but if I judged just by tigerdroppings, I'd say LSU fans were much more obsessed with Tech than the other way around.

Ruston as a haven for hicks, etc is one of those things people in the southern part of the state say that's not really true. I spent some time in that area (Monroe, unfortunately) and the Ruston/Choudrant area contains some VERY rich and VERY snooty people. There is a lot of old money in that area, and you can tell if you spend any time there. It is actually a surprisingly pretty though. Its nothing like Denham or those other "trashy" places people identify in Louisiana. I never noticed any LSU hating.
A ULM fan shouldn't be talking any smack, though. Now THAT place was a dump.

+1000 The one's that don't are fricking retards. I went to Tech because I had to. Not by choice. But i have been a die hard LSU fan since i was a kid. I went to more LSU games in college than I did Tech. I never have understood the animosity some people have toward LSU. I considered transferring to LSU after my sophomore year and when i went to the admissions office to get my transcripts sent to LSU you would have thought i just walked in there with a frick TECH t-shirt on. Both my grandparents passed away within 4 months of each other so I ended up not making the move. But most sane Tech fans also root for LSU.

However, some (LA Tech and ULL) are jealous of LSU and want to compete on a national level
I can see Tech competing on a national level WAY before I can say the same about ULL.
