I was filming for a story (I'm in journalism) and Coach decided to have an open practice for us (which freaking Trent NEVER did).
Will be one of the fittest teams in the league for sure, have them running like crazy.
Also, help defense is not only a thing again under CJJ, but it's an emphasis (thank god!)

there was some misinformation regarding johns. he is back home in england and was never a student at trent school in houston, just camped there over the summer it seems.
LSU is intersted and there is mutual interest along w/ other schools. seems like we would take him when the time is right.

Gonna look like this...
Hickey (28) - Collins (12)
Morgan (20) - Carmouche (4) - Stringer (14) - Collins - (2)
Coleman (16) - Carmouche (18) - Hammink (6)
Ludwig (19) - Courtney (15) - Coleman (6)
JOB (30) - Ludwig (5) - Del Piero (5)
Total Minutes:
JOB 30
Hickey 28
Ludwig 24
Coleman 22
Carmouche 22
Morgan 20
Courtney 15
Stringer 14
Collins 14
Hammink 6
Del Piero 5
Going to bring Hammink along slowly is what I am hearing. Morgan and Collins are not going to be thrown in minutes wise. This will obviously change as season goes on but he will lean on his vets for sure early on.

I know Hickey was pretty solid last year, but I think he's going to be something special in the new system, I like how quick he looked with the ball.

I want to say that Hickey and O'Byrant may average over 30 minutes/game easily, but that would mean we're getting stomped. I'm not sure if I want to hold onto that prediction.

Johnny seems to be happy with the way Hickey, JOB and Ludwig have practiced. This is according to comments he made on the LSU Sports page. He said Courtney has been hampered by injuries and that Del Piero has been given a scholarship and will see playing time.
As far as I know the practices are closed to the public so unless some of these guys that post like they know everything are friends with the coaches or overheard them talking somewhere then that's all we really know.
Comments made about slow white guys holding up run and gun are ridiculous, not to mention racist. Both of our "white guys" will be playing 5 or 4 and their major responsibility will be securing reobounds and making the outlet pass. It is the guards and small forward who will be running and gunning.
Some people seem to think Hammink is "white" but his mother was black so he is mixed race. He is the mystery guy as no one really got a chance to see him play in high school since he was in Europe. During interviews the other players seem to be impressed with him and I can't wait to see him in action. I think he will surprise a lot of people and help us a lot.

My bad...2 slow white guys in the 2 deep...and Ludwig is slow...watch when they play decent teams and how the game is too fast for him...
Last year Eddie played the small forward 3 position. And he still, I think, managed to get up and down the court as needed. Now quickness, reaction time on defense, yeah he had problems with that but so did almost everyone else on the team too except for Stringer, Storm and JOB.

So a slow white guy calling other slow white guys slow is racist?

Yes, because it is a stereotype. The only way you would really know whether Eddie is slow is if you timed him the length of the court and then compared that to JOB and Courtney. Those two because they are approximately the same heigth.

Like I mentioned before, at practice Eddie looked pretty damn good getting up and down the court.
Tuba was well, Tuba, but he's giving it 100% out there and you can tell.

If Stringer takes better shots under Jones, he'll play more.
This. In fact if CJJ demands better shot selection all of the returnees from last year will help the team much more.
The lack of accountability for poor shot selection last year was a huge source of angst for me.
