Peterson is the truth, but he isn't as good as Jenoris Jenkins.

It is just the opposite...those post season awards are all about the hype not the production! Peterson played his butt off this year but of course Bama and Florida gonna get guys on their cause they made the title game...no more no less

Les won't play a kid unless he has been in the program for at least two years. Too much seniority and not getting the best guys on the field.

What was our excuse for the bad season, inexperience? Looks like Florida, UGA, and Bama led the conference in All-SEC Freshmen...hmmmmmm.

Patrick Peterson
31 tackles - 9 assists - 40 total -1.5 tackles for loss
1 interception
3 breakups
1 QB hurry

Janoris Jenkins
24 tackles - 10 assists - 34 total - 1 tackle for loss
3 interceptions
11 breakups
1 forced fumble

I'll take the dude with 3 int's and 11 breakups, what else do you need to see. No comparison on those 2.

Another idiot post....they played the Citadel..if you have your man covered a good QB won't throw that way!!! Jenkins is good but PP should have made all freshman team!!!! One of few bright spots on D!!!

What plays have Jenoris Jenkins and Nico Thorpe made?

They've been starters all year basically. Peterson has not.

I don't really care about national respect and don't necessarily think we've lost much, but c'mon, those four teams defended much better than us.

don't believe they lost respect AT ALL. Not like we have. We're a laughing stock to the rest of the country.

When Longhorns fans are asking me in a snicker, "what toilet bowl is LSU going to this year?" you know we are disrespected nationally.

Good gawd. Laughing stock? Florida had a down year last year. So did OSU a few years back. and when do arrogant Longhorn fans represent the entire nation? you guys are complete drama queens.

Yes. "Bo Pelini please send you playbook back to Baton Rouge! They have given up 50+ TWICE"------Sportscenter

Plus, how many Sports Illustrated, ESPn, Foxsports guys, etc have ALL listed LSU as a program on the decline this year?

"This LSU team has just lost it. No heart or fight"----CBS broadcast

yep, we've lost more respect than any title defender EVER.

Florida had a down year last year

Florida went 9-3 in the regular season. Far and away different than us going 7-5. Florida was still feared by everyone, as evidence by being called the best 9-3 team in the country before their bowl game. Michigan was also really talented last year and played to win one for CArr.

quote:

So did OSU a few years back

IN 2003? No, they did not have a down year that year. they lost a couple of games yes, but not respect like we have.

Good call. How many plays did peterson make during the year. 1 int and a few breakups but he was on plenty of highlights biting on short routes and giving up big plays. I know people are caught up in the hype but he hasn't evolved into the shutdown corner people want to make him out to be.

as a said earlier....one bad year. big deal. i have no doubt we'll be back into the hunt next year. who really cares what those guys think? they proclaim Tebow God and USC #1 every year. Most of the talking heads are jokes anyway. They make comments like that for airtime/print.

Florida's defense was HORREDOUS last year and Mich was a joke. Don't fool yourself.

in 2004, OSU lost 4 games. jeez...Bama lost 6 games last year. When did our fans become such drama queens over ONE bad year?

When's the last time a major program like OSU, Texas, or UF had a losing record in their own conference?

Not anytime recently.

(UF had a bad year and got a new HC. Do you think we'd actually pull the trigger like they did and get rid of leslie?)

Janoris Jenkins is right there with Joe Haden for the most pass break ups. He also makes plays on the football when it is in the air. No one, not Julio Jones nor A.J. Green, had good games against him all season. That's including Brandon LaFell.

Julio Jones 5 catches for 124 yds
Not even Deion Sanders could shut someone down like that. Jenkins really is the truth.

They were also young.

They did not have:
DE- senior
DT-Junior
DT- senior
DE- 6th year senior
OLB-jr
MLB-sr
OLB-jr
S- sr
S- jr

See all the upper classman in our defense. UF had all the components for a good future last year. We did not. We look to get younger and worse on D next year.

Plus, UF had a WINNING SEC record and had a good season.

With their "HORREDOUS" defense, they sure as hell gave our "damn strong" team some problems, huh?

SO FRIGGING WHAT? you wanna fire the coach after a 7-5 season. Please go support another team. Last I checked, we have a favorable schedule, a LOT of starters returning, and a awesome recruiting class coming up. Get over yourself

Whoa, now. You started with the comparisons to those teams adn all I did was point out that it was a terrible comparison. We are the worst defending champs ever and we have lost respect. Those are facts that you can't accept.

Just b/c I believe that doesn't mean I want/think Miles should be fired this year. He should be given a year ot get a proven DC in here and settle the QB situation. If he loses 5+ games next year, he should be gone IMO.

favorable schedule

I don't think so.
@bama-----------loss
@Ole miss-------loss
@UGA------------loss

That's a pretty brutal road schedule.

Bama loses a LOT. No way Ole Miss beats us again. I'll concede the Flor and UGA game, but we'll be battling for the west easily next year.

we had a bad year. step away from the ledge. OSU and Flor had bad years just not as bad as ours. so what? let's move on and look forward to next year or do u still want to grovle in self-pity?

yes, but a win in Tuscaloosa is ALWAYS hard. See last year.
However, your'e right. It' s not one to concede.

Ole Miss will only get better. Plus, on the road doesn't look good for us.

I agree we will be battling for the West if Les finds a good/proven DC. IF not, well it will be the same old crap next year.
