I am curious as to why Mckenna Kelley doesn't get a shot on beam. She is actually not bad on it and she is good

They mentioned that the 3rd spot on beam (which Gauthier took this week) is up for grabs during the week. Maybe Kelley isn't doing enough on beam at intrasquads? She's definitely been getting better on floor.

It's her ankle more than likely...she was rehabbing a severe sprain entering the season and it put all of her preparation behind...

D-D recently said that McKenna isn't on beam because it's too hard on her ankle. She had a sprain in December.

___________
Quote from Fla article: Sloan had never suffered a home loss during her stellar career. She didn't take the first one well.

“They beat us last year,” she said. “OK, LSU, we get it. You have no idea the fire that is burning inside me right now.”

She wasn't alone.

“We never want to lose to them again,” McMurtry said.

I completely forgot about that. Yea Kelley is actually really good on beam but I guess she is still working through that injury. I am sad that Priessman went down. She was getting better and better. Our bar scores would be higher with her in it. Hopefully she heals soon.

She's out for the season? Been so busy I haven;t been able to keep up with all this.

I'm hoping for a 198 on Friday. We haven't done that yet this year, and that would give us a better RQS than Bama currently has.

Actually I think if we just beat them by more than a couple tenths and be in the high to mid 197's it should move us ahead of them, because we will drop are opening home score of 196.950.... Then using Friday night's score.....I think we can overtake them simply by doing that

Just did the math. In order to beat Bama's current RQS, we'd need at least a 197.850. Of course, that doesn't account for the fact that Bama will have the opportunity to improve their own RQS with a good road score, so 198 is still a good goal to shoot for.

The scoring in Florida was just a joke. They threw out 9.9s for everyone that didn't fall or have a huge break it seemed. Not complaining though because LSU could use the huge road score and winning in Florida is an upset, no matter your ranking. LSU did deserve to win, they were lights out on vault and should have been much further ahead of Florida on that event than the judges gave them. The judges also rewarded LSUs difficulty. This has been a long time coming for LSU. They have always had the difficulty but the judges never seemed to care, hitting for deductions and not making it worth it. Now we have better execution but also I think the judges are starting to appreciate what LSU does out there. This team absolutely has potential to win a Championship. I want to focus on SECs first but anything is possible. They need to hit the best bars of the season at NCAAs to have a shot, though. Losing Priessman was tough as she was a 9.9 score. And we do not have depth on bars, that is why Finnegan competed bars despite having a stomach bug. We have other gymnasts who can go up on bars (like Gnat) but we need every 9.9 we can get since right now it is pretty much just Finnegan and Zamardi. Other teams can put up 4-5 9.9 scores and that is where we will get hurt the most at NCAAs. If we make Super 6 we will have to stick 4-5 dismounts on bars. No questions asked.

I watched the replay of this on WatchESPN app and they put on quite an impressive
performance, particularly for the road.

I never thought I would say this about gymnastics, but I found it infinitely more entertaining to watch than basketball (and that's not a low blow comment about the hoops team)
