I don't see any way Lee starts the first game if JJ is healthy, the comments about how good Lee looked is from a small bit of practice in shorts and helmets. And I doubt many QB's would look better than Lee in pure throwing drills. On the vid on lsusports, JJ was pretty erratic throwing the ball

JL started 8 games last yr against much stiffer competition than JJ did in his 2 starts.
It would not surprise nor upset me in the least if JL started the first game.
I dont expect JJ to go backwards and according to LM, JJ would start tommorrow if we had a game.
Im fine with that, Im just saying its a long time till Sept, and if JL happened to have his # called to start I would have ZERO problems with it.

we didn't look like a different TEAM

There's the rub regarding last year. The entire TEAM did not perform well last year, for a myriad of reasons.

People seem to want to focus in on a certain area such as JL or the d but when taken as a whole, as it should be, as with anything else, when one part fails inevitably the whole machine fails.

People have ragged on JL for his pick 6's and blamed him for focusing in on one receiver. I watched games and saw Stafford, Tebow, JPW and even Sam Bradford do the same thing. The difference was a level of maturity in those guys that allowed them to move to other options or throw the ball away. Also the rest of their team had a level of confidence in each other to perform well so that pressure was not put upon them to carry the load of success. LSU did not have that last year, as we had in previous years. LSU was able to win the games it did last year almost by talent alone.

There were so many positive tangibles lacking in last years team that I think will return to this years team. I never played organized sports but I feel that a TEAM is built as much off the practice field by camaraderie and individual effort and leadership as it is on it. I think if you were to talk to any player or coach from last year they would tell you that part of the TEAM was sorely lacking.

As far as JL, it's very easy to tell that this kid, with the right guidance and support, can emerge as a very strong leader and performer. For the guy who said he doesn't have "moxie", anybody who can withstand all the shite thrown at him and come back each time, trust me, the kid has "moxie"!

That being said, do I believe he will be the starter? No. But I believe he will push JJ even harder and that bodes nothing but good for LSU fb this year and later.

Not really. The coaches had a pretty good feel for what they had in Hatch. Do you seriously think they were surprised by his performance?

i don't blame lee for not tackling any of the guys who intrcepted his passes.

i do blame him for NOT EVEN TRYING to tackle any of the guys who intercepted his passes.

NOT ONE SINGLE TIME did he EVER go after the guy.

why?
FEAR OF BEING BLOCKED.

the guy is AFRAID to get hit - miles knows that NOW. crowton and the team knew it last year.

lee will continue to excel in practices and scrimmages - he is a talented passer - WHEN HE IS WEARING THE GREEN, "DON'T HIT ME" JERSEY.

There were other reasons we did not win last year, defense being #1, Look at some of the tape from last year, People were in his face big time.. OL is going to have to be better, DL is going to have to be better.
They showed whay they CAN do in the peach bowl..

peach bowl showed just how BADLY the team underachieved during the regular season.

lee was not the biggest factor in that disappointment - miles was.

JL is a good practice player. That's it. JL will transfer to Northwestern State.
