I just bought a white tank with that logo for my wife. It doesn't look so bad stretched around her big fake boobs.

Baton Rouge was discovered in 1699 and incorporated in 1817. New Orleans was discovered in 1682 and incorporated in 1718.

There's been a push to make it the state symbol of LA...especially after Katrina. Maybe the Reveille did a story on it. Can't remember.

Yeah, the Saints invented and trademarked the Fleur-de-lis, so LSU better watch out.

From wikipedia...

"Baton Rouge dates back to 1699, when French explorer Sieur d'Iberville leading an exploration party up the Mississippi River saw a reddish cypress pole festooned with bloody animals and fish that marked the boundary between Houma and Bayou Goula tribal hunting grounds."

"La Nouvelle-Orléans (New Orleans) was founded May 7, 1718, by the French Mississippi Company, under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville"

Zach7552 I like the thought of it around some big fake boobs too....

As for the symbol some people don't realize that LSU merchandise is a big business and they have to appeal to more then just 15-30 year old males. The Fleur de leis was created for a different market segment and it's working so If you don't like it dont buy it. BUT if you don't like it you can't stare at Zach wifes big fake boobs when she is wearing the tanktop.
