Des Moines should be quite nice about this time of year, huh...not too hot, not too cold...always enjoyed stopping by there for a week or two during the spring and fall...pretty friendly country...

I lived there 3 years when I was younger. Very nice weather - I kind of miss it sometimes.
I also have some relatives that just moved to Des Moines. They're Hawkeye fans, though!

Nacho- good luck. I lived 115 Miles NW of their in a dump of a town Fort Dodge. Iowa fans are those that will support paying a coach $3.5 million just to get to the cap one bowl. Their claim to fame is the last play win against LSU & a tie for the big ten championship back in 2000 era. I met few LSU fans while living there. You must go to Omaha for the CWS. Make sure you wear LSU clothing, flags on the vehicle is a must. Those people love LSU & their fans. I parked free near rosenblatt and one year this family loaned us their annual passes to the Omaha zoo while we were waiting to attend an LSU afternoon game. You gotta geaux

We actually just started a group a few months ago and it has been growing! Your not alone. We call the group DMATE (Des Moines Area Tigers In Exile)! We have a Facebook page. Go to LSU Des Moines-DMATE. We are getting together next weekend for the GA game. We update the page often to let everyone know where will be! Hope to see you there!

nice place out there, i was there about a month ago, and the weather out was wonderful. some cool night spots that we went to, all in all, it was a good time.

For one Fort Dodge is not 115 miles from dumpy town of Des Moines. It is 90 miles from there. Not to smart are you. Don't like Fort Dodge move simple as that. I rather live in Fort Dodge then dumpy town of Des Moines even though I'm from there originally.
