The best QB will play. He wants the team to see it and the coaches to see it. If your the LSU QB you should be able to stick out. If its close LSU will play two QB's.

I hope that means Joe Burrow is light years ahead of everyone else, and the team will see it in camp.

If it’s close, who decides? O or E?

How does one get down voted asking who decides, is that you coach O?

You do realize he has to say that, right?

Exactly. It's a classic PR move. He knows good and damn well Burrow is ahead of everyone else.

Can we admit that if Burrow doesn’t come in and separate himself from the others and become he clear #1, it is a huge Miss by Ed?

I think the coach's comment "It should be a no brainer" is exactly correct. That's the way to make sure everyone gets behind the guy who wins the competition.

I'll put my bet on Burrow, but others can disagree.

Let's see what happens by the middle of August.

What's wrong with honesty?

But Burrow is not "ahead" of anyone on Lsu's roster. He doesnt know the offense yet and just on that alone puts him no here in front. Saying otherwise is stupid. You guys act like hes done something other than a good high school career. Always remember with qb's, once the DCs in the conference get more film on his play, they will get better at finding weaknesses... and that's true on any QB
Be honest with yourselves. If LN would be transferring here from OSU after losing out to Barrett, you would be declaring him the best on our team.
I'm glad theres excitement and young players battling, we haven't had that in many years here.
The promises made to JB to get him here are GONE. Now it's time for him to produce or move on.
Brennan and Burrow will battle it out and my guess is very similar stats in scrimmages with LN doing well in dual threat production and this board will be melting in all directions again not knowing who they want.

Go Tigers, and may the best man win. O isnt being politically correct, hes being honest...NO ONE KNOWS

You can argue that not signing a high school qb was a huge miss but it would be dumb to label Burrow a huge miss in this scenario. He was the best available guy for a transfer by far. It's not like they passes on anyone else to get him. If he doesn't pan out it's a big disappointment but trying to label it like some misevaluation is just wrong.

This Burrow experiment will have been a bust if that ends up happening.

I read on Rant that O was going to mess up the recruitment of Burrow bc Burrow's dad is a coach and would know "how dumb" O is. I guess this is the new attack... if Burrow is not clearly the best, then it was a miss. That's just nonsense. You get the best guy available at the position. At the time, it was Burrow. So I agree with you.

Depends how good the others turn out to be.

I dont' expect Burrow to be awesome right off the bat, I expect him to improve throughout the season.

Now if the QB's suck at the start of the season, then it's a failure.

If Burrow isn't clearly better than the 3 QBs we saw in the spring game, we're in deep, deep, deep trouble.

There are too many idiots on here who wouldn't know which end of a football to pick up, and can't wait to prove it. They expect coaches to be gods who are infallible and can see the future with absolute clarity. They've never managed anything in their lives, so they're completely incapable of understanding that players and coaches are human and sometimes best intentions don't work out. They have no experience, no judgment and no analytic capability, so they see everything in absolutes. The O-negatives lurk in their holes and wait for any conceivable excuse to bash him, whether they know what they're talking about or not.

Oh, for Christ's sake! He tried to improve the team. Period.

It's no different than if a guard didn't work out. Would that be a failed experiment, too?
