I believe they beat GA Tech and lost to Virginia Tech?

yes

a poor FSU team that can't beat S. Florida or GA Tech

Ga Tech and S florida are a combined 10-1. The 1 is techs loss to miami fwiw.

winning against OU without Bradford and winning that game by 1 point AT HOME!

Once again, OU is still better than anyone LSU has played even without bradford. Also that 1 point means nothing as there was a terrible call that basically gifted OU to 7 more points. Just stop bringing it up when you obviously dont watch the games to tell who is good.

polls are bogus until at least one more week of play.

most people in this poll generally agree with you on this.. but one more week really isnt that big of a deal..

teams have fluctuated pretty rapidly in this poll, as they should at this point of the season..

as far as LSU, stats dont lie man.. i believe they have the lowest ranked offense of any team in the top 40..

Ga Tech had not played MSU at the time that Miami beat them. And Miami moved up the week that FSU clocked BYU at Provo. I don't think the voters knew taht Ga Tech was going to beat MSU more than LSU beat MSU since GA Tech hadn't played them yet.

Georgia tech was ranked 13th and miami was ranked 16th. Pretty sure they moved up mostly because of their win.

How could someone drop florida in their poll after winning

some of us had Bama #1 for a while.

but to answer your question, some of us think the polls should be fluid and not carved in stone. Florida beat an over rated team with an awful offense 13-3. Frankly they have not looked overwhelming all season. Alabama has been curb stomping people all year. Frankly I don't know how anyone can not have Bama #1 for the last 2 3 weeks minimum.

Notice you mentioned offense but not defense which LSU is skyrocketing in. Let's see, the last 5 games have given up 9, 3, 26, 13, and 13. Hmmm, not bad considering the competition, huh...including 4 SEC teams.

Also, the ranking of stats is a JOKE for the entire season even. It doesn't account for strength of schedule, not even whether one of those games was against I-AA. Oh, and another pet peeve, why do they call stats for SEC "SEC stats" when they clearly include non-sec teams in the computations?

You know when Miami jumped something like 13 spots in the poll?

Revisiting this...

Once again you are exagerrating and changing stats to your benefit. It was only 9-11 spots. They were ranked 20th in one poll and then 9th. 22nd in the other and then 13th.

The beat the team that was #13 in both to cause this.

FSU beating BYU probably did help them a bit, obviously, but it was no where close to the sole reason for their jump.

Miami was ranked something like 22nd in one poll and moved up 13 slots to #9 for beating GA Tech the same week that FSU clocked BYU which was ranked like #8 or something. Miami clearly rode the wave of the FSU win over BYU a week or two after Miami had beaten FSU. You are just darn lucky that FSU won/loss in the order they did

they beat a team ranked #13 when other teams were losing and had played nobody. I doubt the FSU win carried them all the way there

It was the MAJOR, MAJOR reason. All you had to do was to see how the sports media covered both games, and the FSU over BYU was by far the much, much bigger story!

P. S. I hate your picture...makes me hungry!!

Beating Georgia tech was a bigger reason. This argument is hopeless if you dont believe that. You are just ignoring any sense whatsoever.

Look, Coach Miles, stop worrying about where LSU falls in this poll and just get your fricking offense together.

Absolutely not!! It was the BYU losing to FSU right after Miami had beat them. Once again, the FSU over BYU game was the one that got the media's attention a lot more than an ACC conference game. Plus, BYU was rated much higher than either Miami or GA Tech at the time.

Miami rode the wave of FSU over BYU...simple as that!

I hear that, but I would change one word in your post...."Miles" to "Crowton". Although I must admit that it may be Miles very soon. Looks like Crowton is going to the woodshed!

There is NO WAY that Boise should be ranked in the top 10, considering their schedule.

Boise plays ONE team ranked in the top 50 this season.

If you want to play in a big time bowl, then play a big time schedule. Boise does not deserve their ranking, not even close.

Right where he needs to be with the way this offense is playing.

Crowton is not to blame for the OL play, BUT his job is to work around deficiencies and draw up gameplans that not only consider the opponent's strengths and weaknesses but his own team's. I have seen 0 adjustments on playcalling based upon a poor OL. The adjustments should clearly be the use of misdirection plays to slow down the rush of the defense across the LOS both on running and pass plays. That is exactly how Boise State competes...how Navy competes...how Fresno State competes...hetc.

Those teams have no more OL talent than LSU but amazingly they find a way to move the ball against teams ranked from BCS conferences.

Good poll! LSU does not belong right now....if you can't even make 1 touchdown in a game....that is not top ten or even 15.
