Can anyone tell me the reason that they keep demanding the NCAA be apart of any meetings with WW.

Are there any pros or cons? The only outcome is the NCAA keeping this in mind when sanctions come our way.

Either way it goes though it has to have minimal effect on the outcome.

Why not reinstate WW and make a run in the tournament and let the NCAA do what it may.

What does the school have to gain by demanding the NCAA be at the meetings?!

They must feel they have to be walked through the process like a little kid. They're not independent. They need a babysitter.

My opinion is that under weak overall leadership, compliance department kept asserting itself and used positive feedback it received from NCAA for the way it resolved previous compliance issues to continue to gain prominence inside LSU AD. By basically becoming fully transparent with NCAA about everything, they formed an adversarial relationship with LSU student athletes and coaches (eg, drug testing basketball team, independently investigating Hicks living situation and fully disclosing possible infractions to NCAA, I also think Segar was involved in throwing a fit about Fournette attempting to auction his game jersey for charity). This antagonistic position appears inconsistent with how other universities compliance departments operate. Now an overpowered compliance department at LSU is unable to keep itself out of the spot light and any possible media scrutiny since we’ve become NCAA’s teacher’s pet. They appear unable to handle anything internally without full reliance on NCAA.

Now, their incompetence and antagonism is on full display to us fans and we’re all pissed that these snitches have sold out LSU and that they are having such a detrimental impact on our basketball team. Hopefully the pendulum will swing back mightily and heads will roll. In addition to a new president, AD and BoS, compliance department needs a complete overhaul and new people are needed who can support running a clean program while not being the NCAA’s complete bitch at LSU’s expense.

Some version similar to this would explain the difference between how LSU handled the Wade situation and how the Miller and Pearl situations were handled at Arizona and Auburn.
