Maybe if you bow up to the computer and yell "Yeah bitch, I showed you what's up with just a simple emoticon!!".. That'll make it better.

I am going to have to agree with him. I don't like the trash talking even when we are winning, one of the reasons I stopped watching NFL games. There is no need for it in a sporting events, especially when your getting your arse handed to you. Maybe you should concentrate more on your assignments than talking smack.

Whoa now. I'm not calling for a ban on smacktalking. Just saying something is ok, I guess. It's the showboating style smack talking at completely inappropriate times that turns me off.

We better do some smack talking while being competitive. A little showboating after a big play occurs during said competitive game is acceptable.

So, I ask that we not tolerate such idiotic behavior.

I agree. Harry Coleman is a beast on defense and our best defensive player this year in my opnion but there was no need for all the trash talking he did especially when we were getting our a** kicked. He wasn't the only one but there were several occasions I can remember weher it was him.

The thing that also gets me is when they lay the wood to an out stretched reciever who is obviously hurt and they stand over them talking shite. No need for that as a competitor you should respect your opponent while you are trying to beat the crap out of them.

Whatever works for you...I'm just smart enough to know that whatever the crusty old goody goody fan like you thinks, the fact is: these young men are, by nature, aggressive. They are playing an aggressive sport and their adrenaline is pumping. They are between the ages of 18 and 22, and they think they are bulletproof. Don't think they arent playing hard and hitting hard just because they talk smack to each other. Last, try not to take yourself, and this game they play, so seriously. They are not international diplomats out there. They are not ironing out the details of a nuclear treaty.

I suggest you grow up and let these young men, who are hitting each other at least in part for your entertainment, express themselves as they and the coaches see fit.

Are you sure you aren't a soccer mom in disguise?

That's part of the game. Glory is fleeting in football. They gotta enjoy the good plays they make. Rub it in. Screw the other team. If their feelings are hurt, then they probably shouldnt be out there anyway.

They're probably pissed off by your racist North Baton Rouge comments.

Don't worry about him, he thinks all the players should sing kumbaya after the game, sharing tea and crumpets. And he clearly has never played at any level.

I was embarrassed by the LSU defense, not because of their performance, but by their character. (or lack thereof)

But were they embarrassed? I think that's what so many of us fail to realize. It doesn't matter a bit what we think/feel/want for this team. They have to want it for themselves.

While I have to say that I didn't really care for the trash talk that it really doesn't matter what I or you think. Same with all of our expert opinions. Just giving a little persepective in the midst of the great Rant meltdown of 2008.

But when you run someone out of bounds, AFTER they pick up a first down, while giving their team first and goal....you should just jaw it up.

Of course if the LSU D wasnt jawing, or bitching about coaching, or pointing fingers in the secondary I wouldnt recognize them this year.

If you don't like celebrating and trash-talking, then you are against it when winning or losing. There is nothing more wrong with this stuff when they are losing. When SnowMan comes out against trash-talking and celebrating because we were losing, it just makes him look like a whiny bitch.

Trash talking denigrates your program. period. Win or lose it's thugish. Doing it when losing, add classless, trashy to it. No place in the game for it. Down by thirty you should be a little humbled, not chest thumping and grabbing individual attention.

Snowman: They will lay off you when you get over 1,000 posts or so, they still rag on me as a newbie.

Trash talking, and then taking it back, "because I didn't mean it that way." Is silly. But, when you set a precedent, let me think of a famous trash-talking quote from a certain coach, I'll call him, Bes Giles..."we will play any sucker, any time..."

It trickles down. If coaches throw out these things so will the players.

If I were a UF player I would laughed my arse off at any trash talking coming from LSU. Its like our players are too dumb to know they look stupid.

Great first post, dumbass Personally, we need more players like Harry Coleman and Tyson Jackson. We were SOFT and those were the few guys that were actually playing. Everytime UF made a play they were talking shite but it's ok cuz they were winning? Defense is 100% about attitude and effort. When you're getting in people's faces and not backing down that means you have attitude...and we lack it right now. I wish we had more Laron Landry's, Harry Coleman's, Tyson Jackson's out there...so we don't care about your "generation" of LSU football because your generation didn't win championships so please, go back to the hole you crawled out of.

Guess you strive to be like miami...those players make LSU look like a thug team....WOW, you knocked a qb that is kicking your arse out of bounds at the 1 yd line....
