What's the latest on Downs?

I think we see a heavy rotation with Downs/Copeland/Johnson.

Oh, we will see him, but as a fullback!

Copeland may be our starting FB next year so he's out. I look for Downs or Bennie Logan to start in Dallas but look for Freak to be in there early and never NOT start until he leaves.

Again, people just simply forget Bennie Logan. IMO, he's starting over Downs at this point opposite Brockers.

Damn it! I meant Ferguson. I always mix those two up.

I can't wait to see Sam unleashed. I also can't wait to see Sam on one side and Mingo on the other in 3rd and long situations. I think Sam will be on a major mission this year, especially when we play Tennessee.

I'd count Ego in that rotation.

Can you say DEEP! This doesn't include incoming freshman stud Jemauria Rasco.

Downs has had problems staying healthy. But when he actually got on the field, he clearly outplayed Brockers last year. Grsanted, that wasn't saying much, as Brockers was pushed around constantly.

So as long as Downs is 100%, I think he is clearly our best DT at this point. Logan (and/or Johnson) may overtake Brockers for the other starting spot. But unless Brockers has really progressed since last year, He will not play in front of Downs.
