actually, I'm positive you don't know what it means...choking is failing to do something that you would normally do 95% of the time, but the pressure of the moment was so great, that you mentally folded. Winning a football game against a team with McFadden, Jones, etc. is not a 95% proposition, neither is completing passes in gusty conditions. Certainly it was a disappointing performance, but not a choke.

Yes, we choked. We were still the most deserving team that season, but that doesn't mean we didn't choke. Just because everyone else was average doesn't mean we had to play average football to end the season.

I mean did anyone actually watch the Arkansas game? Sometimes a truly great player can singlehandedly alter the course of and take over a game. Darren mcfadden had the best performance of his life that day. I think LSU losing that game had a lot more to do with what mcfadden did thank what LSU didn't.

mcfadden fumbled twice in the beginning of the game. Game should have been put away early. Lsu choked. Period.

Gutsy conditions? Lol
all the had to do was beat a unranked team at home on senior day and they couldn't.

it was a total choke, but keep trying to spin it

Well with the #3 defense in the country and 11 guys playing on it, 1 guy should never dominate you at home on Senior Day with EVERYTHING on the line. This isn't basketball. A great player on an average teams should never beat a great team on their home field.

In the end we did deserve it the most, but the two biggest factors in our making it had to do with our preseason ranking and our win over VT. In my opinion, LSU got worse as the season went on. We peaked in game two against VT. The team was seriously limping at the end of the regular season. Thankfully we didn't have to play UGA in the SEC CG. They were much like LSU 06 in that they were the hottest team in the country at the end of the season.

It's amazing that some people don't actually realize what a choke is anymore.

Yep, had we not played VT, they would've been in the title game in what would've been one of the worst national champions in a looooong time.

LSU's decline happened in the second half of the South Carolina game IMO. VT was the most complete game I've ever seen LSU play under Miles. We crushed MTSU with RP at QB, and we were on our way to blowing out SCAR at home. After that 1st half, it went downhill. We beat them by 12, then struggled with Tulane, and so on and so forth.

I think UGA definitely beats us in the SECCG, though at the end of the season we were the best team in the country.

definition of choke

To stir the pot a tad.

I always like to keep a link of this crap to send to other sec sports boards. I always enjoy seeing the rantards on here completely hose their own program....and the ones that always seem to get the biggest kick is alabama fans.

It's times like these where I wonder if it's truly worth it to be an LSU fan if I have to throw in my hat with other people like Doc who consider themselves fans. It almost demeans the meaning of the word....or more accurately represents it, I'm not sure. Either/or, certainly is degrading.

I'll be sure to post links of other fan base responses soon.

You sometimes have to wonder if most of them are true fanes. They seem to be agenda driven at all times.

There is no way you can "choke" when you win.

It's just a shame. You have some in every school's fan base, but it's quite bad with LSU. There's being competitive, and then there's being completely insane.

There are some that border on insane.
