Harbaugh is supposed to be taking his staff to Waco this spring to meet with Art Briles and staff. Hope his defensive guys share some knowledge with Phil Bennett.

Harbaugh is already ahead of LSU. been in college 1 season and realized he needs to implement the spread RPO offense to get better production passing and running. Smdh WAKE UP LSU

Exactly. Patterson gave up his once stout defenses for a fast paced offense.

You should probably hold off on saying that like it's a fact for another year or two. I will digress below.**

As far as LSU is concerned - I think with the athletic talent across the board that arrives annually with every recruiting class - The Tigers would be ideally suited to opening up the Offense somewhat. I also think that if the Defensive coaching staff prepared itself properly for that type change - LSU's D would return to flat-out wearing opposing offenses the hell out again (much like it seems they used to constantly years back).

** Now the aforementioned digressing for anyone interested...
No - I don't think TCU will be gracing the Top 10 overall Defense anytime soon... but I DO think you are going to see them return to respected status in short order. 2015 was only the 2nd season under the new system and it was obvious from the outset that adjustments would have to be made as the uptempo O would put the D back out there faster and more often. Easier to build on what you've learned if you have building blocks...

First - Patterson gave up 4 Defensive starters to the NFL from the 2014 Peach Bowl TCU squad (Dawson CIN, Hackett OAK, Anderson CHI, White AZ). Then - The 2015 season began by losing 3 experienced Defensive starters prior to the season opener. Subtract another 2 starters (both LBs) and 3 more from the 2-deep by the time the 2nd game of the season rolled around. Seriously - The only experienced guy on that side of the ball, Safety Derrick Kindred, played the ENTIRE season with a broken collarbone (injured 3 days prior to season opener). I'd like to see any coach try to build a stout defense under those circumstances... with or without a whole slew of 4* and 5* players.

Common practice for every coach in the profession. They all spend their offseasons visiting with each other and picking one another's brain.

This is 100% accurate. Every coach in high school, college, and professional football visits with other coaches to constantly improve.

So yes, it's for real and not stupid.

It would absolutely be foolish to make the assumption that LSU will adapt their offense because Les is feeding the media this nonsense. Les feeds the fools garbage every single offseason, every single scrimmage, and every single fall practice about how much more diverse the offense will be. But as soon as we line up against Wisconsin next Fall all of that talk will be proven to be lies.
