You do realize that LSU has arguably the 3rd most basketball tradition in the SEC, right?

Probably 4th actually, behind UK, Arky and UF. I know UF hadn't done much until Donvan, but 2 NCs and 3 Final Fours since hes been there puts them ahead of LSU. And, with most recruits now-a-days, it's very much "what have you done lately."

I live in Pittsburgh and I have been able to watch a few games online still haven't seen tonight's game but I have seen improvement in the guys they are playing hard and that for one is something I don't remember seeing in the past, they would give up but so far I haven't seen that this year. Is there room for improvement yes, but I think the biggest difference is that these kids have the right person in charge to help them get there.

So how do you explain a team like Florida winning national championships in basketball and also Oklahoma, for example, being very respectable in basketball when they are both big time football schools?

It'll take a second, but LSU basketball will have more of an identity. Just have to be patient. Will never be UNC or Duke. They are more talent-rich in bball, but we were still able to make it to a final four a few years back.

Also, I wouldn't pay too much attention to someone that has posted over 500 times in a month.

Obviously you're a carrier of the nitwit virus, but there is an answer to that silly proposition.

When kids come out of HS they want to play near home first, then elsewhere. LSU basketball has the same advantages that football and baseball have --- state full of athletes, and one major school to ply their skills. Trent does need to turn a couple of top flight recruiting classes though.

Actually, during the stretch where LSU went 0-12 from the field, most of the shots were from the lane. They drove the ball and took decent shots....Xavier just played good D and affected the attempts. It wasn't all a bunch of 3's.

Note: This is also for the hundreds of lurker's who may not know alot about the LSU Basketball program, and what has gone on around here in the past couple of years...

Now, for the rest of you TIGER Fan's...This is just a short list of why i think we lost to Utah and Xavier and why we might struggle a bit for the next couple of years, in certain games....

This is what happens when Tyrus Thomas and Anthony Randolph leaves to go pro(if they both would have stayed here at LSU, they both would be playing this year) and when Greg Monroe doesn't want to stay in state and when TJ allows J'Mison Morgan to get out of his commitment(even though i understand TJ's reasonings behind it) and when Magnum Rolle transfer's, etc...and with Garrett Green redshirting, etc...which we could have used GG this year, with him being 6ft 10 and 235...I am not saying that MR and GG are Superstar's, but i would take either of them right now over anyone on this entire message board!
Another words, this is what happens when we have a depleted team!...So what else did u people REALLY expect this year? Give this team some credit!!! I am very proud that TJ is our coach and he can only do so much with the player's that were left for him...What did you people really expect a Final 4?...With a brand new HC, in new Conference, with a very depleted team, is very unrealistic, not impossible, just unrealistic and unfair to expect that of TJ and this team!

Just try to stay as positive as you can about this team. I am not trying to bad mouth Butch Pierre, he was a great Coach and some would argue an even better recruiter...However, Pierre didn't do much to stop these players from going pro and he even went as far to say in an interview about AR's departure to the pro's...By saying...''I told AR it would be his own fault if he stayed at LSU and did not go pro...During the recruiting process I told him that I could pick ‘em. He should have been a McDonald’s All-American and that’s been proven now. I also told him that if he stays at LSU for more than two years it’s his fault.''

...What kind of College Coach would lead or push his own player's into the pro's and away from the school he Coaches for? Does this sound professional and ethical to you as an LSU coach? Just a little something for you Tiger fan's and the rest of the board to ponder over...

No wonder a few of our LSU players left early for the pro's or transfered or quit during BP's tenure, it sure didn't seem like BP was doing everything in his power to keep them here, even though he did everything he could to get them here, and i am sure JB has his fair share in this demise as well...This makes some people believe that BP's Coaching may have been in vain, and makes some people wonder if he did it for his own fame and his own notorioty... Here is the link to the interview.... LINK

I am very pleased with the way the fans and Student's represented B.R., L.S.U., and the State of Louisiana tonight on National TV!

I am VERY PROUD TO BE AN LSU TIGER!!!

BEAT TENNESSEE!!!

Ok...by your own logic, an LSU baseball program that had done DICK in its history hired a quality coach and program-builder and made itself into one of the premier programs in college baseball. If what you say is true, then Texas and Miami and USC would be the only teams baseball players would want to attend.
