I would have them practicing mid range jumpers and foul shots at practice over and over and over

Want to know how I know you truly have no idea except what you were told growing up about basketball?? First off, that would be the worst practice in the history of the game. They have managers and such to help players get up shots when needed. Which is after or before practice! No coach in America that is at this level is wasting his practice time to work on either of the things you listed for any real amount of time. If player x needs to short some free throws, get with the managers after practice and shoot 100. Don’t leave until you get it done. There’s a lot more that goes into this than your run of the mill high school program. Don’t have time for that stuff in practice man.

And reason number 2 that you shouldn’t try to coach college basketball because you have no idea what you are talking about….you saying follow your shot like a parent in the stands. You do know there are offenses today that actually teach to do the exact opposite and not follow your shot, right? This would send the shooter and one other guy back to avoid giving up easy transition buckets. So to sum up for you, some guys teach different stuff, everyone don’t go for mom and pop’s idea of follow your shot little Jimmy…

half of the 'shots' aren't even shots. They are just throw up toward the backboard with the nothing more than a faint hope something good will happen. LSU pays totally out of control and the refs respond with the same officiating. Wade has had a chance to change this, but it has become apparent he doesn't believe in shooting reasonable shot at a higher %, so he has changed nothing. When Gaines dribbling and rushing the basket with a throw up toward the backboard is 80% of your offense....provided he can get to the hoop without dribbling off his feet or charging into a stationary player...then sooner or later you have to admit Wade has no answers offensively. He never does anything different....difficult street ball to watch.

Nailed it. Especially rebounding. For a rotation as big and athletic as we are, the boards should be a strength not a weakness.

Gaines is an unbelievable talent but he needs to quit playing like a wild man and get himself under control. He would be unstoppable if he would dial it back just a bit.
