Purdue Fort Wayne is ending their baseball and softball programs.
I'm afraid this is just the start.
I was wondering why there were so many softball members in the transfer portal.

Afraid of what? A shift back towards academics?

What a very lame way to make it an LSU thread baw.

NIL is just completely out of control and having these type of rough downstream effects.
I totally think players of revenue sports deserved a bit more than what they were getting. With that said, it just feels like we've completely jumped the shark here.
And I never understood why in the past some people made it seem like the value of a college education was basically nothing. While their peers paid, often, thousands upon thousands of dollars for a degree, student-athletes get a free education, room, board, tutoring, connections not to mention the coaching/training facilities where they can prepare to go to the next level, if possible.
Yet, you would think that was nothing based on what people used to say and I think it's this attitude that helped lead to this out-of-control mess.

college sports is dead to me
the illusion of amateurism was the thin thread that bound the world together, now i have nothing but hate in my heart and a fuzzy feeling in my brain

No, that would be a good thing. Afraid of a shift to club sports for the minor sports.

All the ncaa had to do was let them get endorsements and jobs. That’s it.
Let them make a few bucks for signing autographs at a car dealership or helping at a football camp.
Would not have cost the schools a dime.
