i dont know anything about Southall
Eades is a pitcher/hitter from Northshore Hs. Big, strong well built kid. Tore his labrum, didnt pitch this past year. He is a very good hitter, and IMO could contend early for time at 1B or DH. Im not sure if he will be able to pitch his FR year. But he is 92-93 when healthy. Was considered a better pitching prospect than hitter, but he is very good at both and will be an immediate impact guy. Was the first HS Soph ever to commit to LSU
Gausman was supposed to go earlier. Another hard thrower, some say he is a bit wild, others also say his velocity is down. Dont know much more about him.

FWIW, Eades had his surgery in early summer 2009. There's really no reason to think he couldn't be ready to pitch in the fall. It will have been well over a year.

you HAVE To keep a few walk on's.
If Lee comes to LSU, wouldn't he considered being a walk on for baseball, meaning that his scholarship would count towards football. With the limited scholarships, I think that is the way to go. That is why I thought Gaudet was out last year, as Jones could play and wouldn't count towards the 11.7 scholarships.

no, you cant play baseball for free on a football scholarship
PM kept Chad Jones because he thought he would help the team, also considering Gaudet had a back problem. But either one would have been on scholarship.

What's funny about that? Alot of other people seem to think the same thing. You're the only moron who is laughing because everyone and their mom knows we got lucky with the Dodgers picking him because of their lack of paying top draft picks. Also, add in the ownership is in shambles right now and their financial stability is in question.

I think it's you can't play football on a baseball scholarship. Their was a discussion about Desheilds yesterday and this came up.

i could be wrong, but i thought Jared Mitchell and Chad Jones were both forced to be on baseball scholarships as well.
so they were walk on's?

It's called the "Bear Bryant Rule." Bryant used to warehouse football players on the baseball team using baseball scholarships.
The NCAA caught on to what he was doing and passed a rule that if an athlete plays football and any other sport, he must either be on a football scholarship or count against the 85 scholly limit if he is on the "other" sport's scholarship.
