Since that series loss to Texas, LSU was 47-4 in opening series coming into this year. 48-3 in home series openers (we took two of three from UCF one year in a season opener, then came home and swept the home opener).

yeah, we didn't play a bum. we played a,solid team from a top 3 conference.

this team will be better in the second half. lots of new faces. going to take some time to figure out.

this is not a vintage LSU team either. Alex Lange, Alex Bregman, and Jared poche will not be walking through that door.

There are teams just as good, if not better, scattered across those opening weekends. We're just much worse than normal at the moment.

We know we have some work to do.

There is no use to cry about this opening weekend. The talent level that we have now is what we have. Coach Mainieri has recruited these players and if the season is subpar then we will wait until next season. Just have to see how the season plays out. If the talent is lacking then it is lacking. I'll find a hobby to spend my time and money on instead if baseball.

This will be a long season. Starting pitching and hitting was pretty much nonexistent. I was fairly impressed with the bullpen though I'll give them credit.

To be fair we usually open with a directional school of the blunt not a decent opponent. I would much rather watch us play Notre Dame and Texas than some crappy teams.

I’m not happy with the results so far though, especially our pitching

no streak lasts forever.

i'm glad we lost this series. after last years run we need to be reminded how hard it is to end on top. this team has talent and needs to elevate their game. i'm betting PM will do just that. he's proven he can do it.
