Nola - P

I do think Moore will get the first start at C. Not sure he keeps it for the long haul but i think he's there opening day.

I concur for friday. The C/1b positions will rotate for a couple of weeks until KS settles in at C and Moore at 1b IMO.

if one of them can show the ability to throw out runners... they'd have the job.

Agreed. I think he ends up at 1B. Scivique is probably the best C. And Chinea probably has the best bat of the three.

I must be the glass half empty guy this year. It doesnt look entirely daunting to me. A lot of guys will need to step up in order for it to be a tough lineup.

Well 5 of those 9 guys hit over .300 last year

Foster
Power------55
Hitting------55
Speed------65
Fielding----65
Arm---------65

Then there is Jared Foster who is one of the most improved players on the team after dropping football to focus solely on baseball. An already above average athlete Foster may see himself hitting anywhere from the 5 hole to 9. The sample size is small for Jared, but he has experience and will not be a liability in the outfield defensively.

Looks like Foster has improved even since Adam's review.

that's too low of a baseline

mcmullen - good hitter
laird - eh kinda scrappy. to me his OBP is more the # to look at than his avg
bregs - no reason to discuss
foster - i think he has potential but it remains to be seen if he can do it every day
ibarra - good hitter
moore - ok hitter
chinea - showed signs of being a good hitter but we'll see
civic - complete unknown
hale - complete unknown
stevenson - do we get the awful 2013 hitter or the good winter ball hitter. to me he's a unknown too

I'm not saying it cant be a good lineup but it doesnt look as stacked to me as in years past.

Well yea no Katz or Rhymes will do that

We'll find out soon enough. I do agree about Laird's obp, he has to be more selective at the plate.

True but there's unkowns in the lineup every year. Ibarra, McMullen and several OF slots were unknown at this point a year ago.

A pain train is only as good as it's conductor. Step up you're game.

I think Ibarra drives his own pain train though.

Ibarra is a guy that doesn't get a pain train and doesn't want one. He quietly goes out day after day and does the job well. Gotta love those guys.
