Talking Scholarships.

And most of the discussion is dealing with the "have nots"
I hate this issue.

Paraphrasing PM:

Broussard has the second best stuff on the team behind Nola. He's a tad rusty and inconsistent coming off of TJ surgery.

Talking now about how well Nola handles expectations.
Claims he's better this year than last. Stronger. Hold velocity later in games. Sharper CB. Deceptive CH.

Talking about the strength, top to bottom, of the SEC. Calls it the big leagues of college baseball.

How to win big:
Have to have talent and horses. Most importantly: win the close ones. Those define the season. Key to this is finding a closer. Keeps him "up at night."

Moore at cleanup?
I lost the signal. Is that what he said?

Is he worried about protecting Bregman in the order?
Best candidates:
Ibarra - Senior; veteran
Moore - vs. Right handers
Chinea
Scivicque
Like Mac in leadoff because he excels so much there. Laird second.

Can we protect Bregman with Furniss?

More on the order:
Hale and Zardon are competing for 2B.
Jared Foster has become a real presence. Doing well in the scrimmages (besides yesterday). Wants him to be more consistent. Thinks he could be a pro prospect down the road.

1B:
Whoever isn't catching will play first (we've heard this a bunch).

Biggest improvements:
*missed the first guy he mentioned
Stevenson - had to play defense because he was a game changer in CF. Going to be much better offensively.
Ibarra/Mac - With full year under their belt in SEC, they will be much improved

I'm interested to see who the two catchers are tonight at the scrimmage.

Biggest concern:
Closer. Close games have to be won. Domangue gets first shot, but he's been rusty. McCune or Broussard could get the next looks.
Talking change in baseball in 2015:
All he knows is from the testing which is the extra carry. He thinks it's needed. Eludes to UCLA winning with 85 mph and waist high fastballs getting crushed and going nowhere.
Won't change how he recruits. Roster limits have affected recruiting just as much as the bat change.
