Yep. And I love it. I'm excited about this team. The media will have a serious reality check when we handle Seattle at their place in 14 days. The injuries are starting to become a concern though.

The Saints winning on Thursday will be a nice start to the weekend. I am not expecting it at all but it would be nice to have Manziel finish his career 0-2 against the tigers.

I think it's a bad call. Put yourself in the defensive end's shoes. He's going full speed trying to beat the offensive tackle around the end. He beats his guy and there's the quarterback standing right in front of him. He can't hit the qb in the head, he can't hit him low, where's he supposed to tackle him? At full speed, he doesn't lower his head, runs straight into the qb and gets called for hitting him high. Remember, he was sprinting around the offensive tackle, and if he slows down Brees will scramble away from him, or get rid of the ball.

No doubt. Point is that it is a rule, which makes it a very easy and very correct call. No brainer.

San Fran's defense could have stopped them any time after that. Or their offense could have gained positive yardage after they got the ball back.

No doubt, the refs are going to flag anything that looks like a hard hit, but my argument is what can the defensive end do different?

You can't hit the QB in the head or below the knees. The defender needs to hit him between there. Again, it's the rule that sucks. The call was as clear as it gets and right.

Right, and he didn't. His arm went across Brees' chest. I read in another thread people saying that he ended up with his arm around Brees neck. That probably happens a dozen times in every game, but because it happened to the quarterback it gets flagged.
