Ya I’ve heard that he doesn’t want to be a HC. That he’s good as a DC. I’ve also heard he’s kinda been promised the job If O experiment fails. If O didn’t cut it my wish would be Aranda stays as Dc and Kiffen is hired. I think he wants the job and that’s why he pops up on BR radio here in there. A little networking never hurt anyone. I think he wants to go against Saban to see how good he (himself) really is. Saban is the standard And he knows LSU is a prime spot for that

Kinda sounds like head coach in waiting to me....

I’ve never heard of a Head Coach in waiting under a coach who isn’t established.

Dave is the hardest worker on the coaching staff. He eats sleeps and shits football. He not only know defense but helps the offense out by analyzing weaknesses of opponents defensive weaknesses. The guy is also a pretty good recruiter.
If the O experiment fails I would have no issues hiring Aranda as the HC unless there was a proven Power 5 HC out there that we could bring on board.

we won't hire Aranda as our next head coach. As much as I love him as DC, he has ZERO head coaching experience at any level, and the skill sets for coordinator and HC are completely different.

Aranda may be a great head coach someday, but we're not going to follow the O era by promoting a guy from within who has no head coaching experience.

Our next head coach will be a proven winner as a head coach.

In your opinion, do you believe that LSU will hire a head coach without previous head coaching experience?

Better than hiring a coach who has had a disastrous Head Coaching experience.

That wasn't my question. The question is do you think that LSU will do it?
