JJ beat Bama 2x

He wasn't great by any measure but his JR and SR years were a cut above where we are now in terms of positive outcomes.

12th is the worst class we've had in over a decade.

That's bullshite. There is a huge difference once you get into the top 10.

It's been a long time since we've had a class with such promise in the trenches.

Kardell Thomas = #2 OG (LSU Commit)
Kenyon Green = #2 OT (LSU Commit)

Grimes doin' work!

Ishmael Sopsher = #1 DT (LSU Lean)

Sopsher's going to be a hard get. The "sawed off SOB" has his grips on the Amite area with insiders.

We could've got a lot of coaches that would bring in 12-15 type classes.

His whole deal was that recruiting would not drop off and it might even improve. Now it's like he's being absolved of the one thing that everyone agreed he was here to do at a high level.

This thread is about closing the gap. We aren't doing that by bringing in the 15th ranked class.

Sopsher is not showing any interest in Alabama.

No Alabama on his list.

a, ha. That's cute. Obviously you don't follow recruiting and realize that 2018 is a down year in Louisiana talent at RB and OL/DL.

Then go out of state and get them like the last coach. LSU is a national brand. No excuses.

He's a 2019 kid. Bama will be in the mix before it's done.

We are and will before it's all done. We have 11 in state and 7 out of state now. We currently sit at 17th. Bama is 16th, Clemson 18th and Auburn 20th. Before it's done Bama will likely jump to #1. There's a long way to go. We are in good position to sign Joiner and Suratin, 2 more out of state guys.

If we want to "close the gap" we have to crawl out of this QB slump we've been in for a decade. Plain and simple answer to our offensive woes. The last 7 loses to Bama are almost all directly related to poor QB play.

I agree 100%. I'm pretty sure that's one of the "couple players" discussed in the article. The fact that we matched Bama up front on both sides of the ball is very promising and I'm really looking forward to seeing what Canada can do with Brennan and Narcisse in his system.

Joe described Coach O as a great or phenomenal recruiter during the seach/hiring process.

I haven’t seen evidence of that to this point either last year or with this current recruiting class, but there’s always hope that he can turn it around.
